【EXHIBITION】“Scenic Beauty: Chan Kai’s Poetic Landscape Paintings Exhibition”

This exhibition focuses on her recent contemporary abstract ink landscape paintings, showcasing her profound transformation and modern interpretation of traditional splashed-color and splashed-ink techniques.

As a student of the master painter Liu Haisu, Chan Kai’s work represents an ongoing dialogue between tradition and modernity, figuration and abstraction. In this series, her “controlled chance” splashed-color technique serves as a projection of her inner state: seeking order amidst chaos and capturing tranquility within the flow.

Upon closer inspection, viewers will discover that within the vast abstract color blocks and flowing ink rhythms, Chan Kai has skillfully concealed delicate humanistic touches—such as small boats, village dwellings, and little humans. These details serve as emotional anchors, drawing the viewer back from the grand cosmic perspective to the concrete warmth of human life.
