We are delighted to present a solo exhibition by established artist Xiao Bo, opening this coming Thursday in Hong Kong.
How can a canvas dissolve narrative to purely record the steady accumulation of time and introspection? In 46 Sai Street, Xiao Bo translates “individual experience” and “objective reality” into a quiet dialogue between body, time, and material.
Xiao Bo deepens his signature “Four Grids” working method, where the canvas is divided into four equal sections. Across these quadrants, his body advances in a synchronized, repetitive rhythm that eliminates narrative representation and emotional noise. Bringing together nearly 18 large and small-scale works, each repeated layer of paint and pause, the minute variations in bodily movement become the sole variable, mirroring the act of painting itself—transforming the canvas into an objective record of somatic breath and the folds of time. ⏳
