We are delighted to present a solo exhibition by established artist Xiao Bo, opening this coming Thursday in Hong Kong.

How can a canvas dissolve narrative to purely record the steady accumulation of time and introspection? In 46 Sai Street, Xiao Bo translates “individual experience” and “objective reality” into a quiet dialogue between body, time, and material.

Xiao Bo deepens his signature “Four Grids” working method, where the canvas is divided into four equal sections. Across these quadrants, his body advances in a synchronized, repetitive rhythm that eliminates narrative representation and emotional noise. Bringing together nearly 18 large and small-scale works, each repeated layer of paint and pause, the minute variations in bodily movement become the sole variable, mirroring the act of painting itself—transforming the canvas into an objective record of somatic breath and the folds of time. ⏳

Leo Gallery Shanghai is honored to present artist Liu Zhengyong’s solo exhibition “My Mont Sainte-Victoire”, curated by Zhu Zhu. Centered on the human figure and body, the exhibition features multiple series of recent works, including large-scale paintings and abstract explorations.

Rooted in Neo-Expressionism, ZhengYong Liu speaks through paint alone without any mixed media. He places heavy, gritty, and turbulent brushstrokes against dark, indistinct backgrounds to articulate the inner states of life. Reconstructing color through a deeply subjective process, his figures possess variegated tones reminiscent of a primeval forest and weathered sedimentary rock, with vivid tones pulsing beneath the surface. Stripped of all concealment, these figures capture the drive to endure through despair—holding life in pause while leaving room for rebirth. 🪵🪨

Tonight, Leo Gallery Hong Kong is pleased to open siokit lai ’s solo exhibition “Geometric Gesture”, with an opening reception from 6–8pm.

Renowned as the visual encoder of Macao’s urban poetics, Sio Kit brings forth his latest, groundbreaking experimentation from his decade-long Elapse series. 💠Here, the artist condenses his retrospective gaze at Macao’s history into intimate 10 x 10 cm paintings wrapped onto three-dimensional cubic matrices.

By dissecting the hand-painted vintage floor tiles and urban textures of his childhood, Sio Kit translates two-dimensional works into striking physical installations. ⏳Rendered in a restrained palette of grays and browns, these cubes act as space-time capsules—transforming collective memory and the traces of time into a tangible, sensory presence.

Come experience this profound dialogue of geometry and memory.🎞️

Taking “geometry” as a central thread, the exhibition dissects and reconstructs the hand-painted floor tiles and urban textures that have captured the artist’s gaze since childhood. 👣

These cubic matrices do not merely freeze the artist’s aesthetic reflections on geometric painting; they act as space-time capsules, transforming collective childhood memories and the traces of time in Macao into a tangible, sensory presence—leaving a profound, lingering gaze toward the future artistic narratives between the two cities.🎞️📽️

“In truth, a great deal of time and energy was invested into these small-scale works on MDF boards. With the shifting of painting mediums, this experimental process feels as though I have given myself a new game.”

Leo Gallery Interview | .doe_

“My working habit is to engage in deep research and then create with a general theme embedded in the back of my mind. However, it is important to me that the paintings do not become overly figurative or literal, so I often draw inspiration from the subconscious. Usually, it is only when looking back after the fact that I notice the emergence of those interwoven themes and symbols. I suppose it is a bit like interpreting past dreams.”

The dual solo exhibition Thicket Flow by artists Yafeng Duan and Lin Jing has grandly opened on May 23rd at Leo Gallery Shanghai.

The exhibition brings together the recent paintings of the two artists. Lin Jing’s colors are bold and profound, forming a dense and tension-filled visual thicket.

Yafeng Duan, working through intuition and meditation, transforms her perception of mist and flowing water into an ethereal, drifting visual flow.

“Thicket” is interweaving and sheltering; “Flow” is threading and seeping — standing within the thicket flow, the viewer’s gaze becomes the path. The exhibition is on view till July 5, 2026.
