The Association paid visit to Mr Wang Yongxin of China Merchants Energy Shipping 協會拜會招商局能源運輸控股王永新先生 - 21 Feb 2024

Association Chairman Mr Angad Banga, Deputy Chairman Mr Richard Hext and Managing Director Ms Sandy Chan paid a visit to Mr Wang Yongxin of Chinese Merchants Energy Shipping to exchange views on various issues of interest to the shipping community and the the long-term development of the Association.

協會主席Angad Banga先生、副主席宋睿之先生 (Richard Hext) 及董事總經理陳佩珊女士拜會招商局能源運輸控股王永新先生，就航運界關心的各項議題及協會的長遠發展交換了意見。

Association Analyst Luncheon – “2024 – Will the Dragon Roar?” - 20 Feb 2024

The Association has invited its long-time member Mr Tim Huxley to give his thoughts on the shipping market on the year to come and how the multiple talents in Hong Kong shipping industry face the opportunities that come with turbulent times.

Mr Tim Huxley is the Chairman of Mandarin Shipping Limited and former Vice Chairman of the Association. He has spent over four decades in the shipping industry, the majority in Hong Kong.

協會年度分析師午餐會 – ”2024 年－龍在吼嗎?〞

協會邀請了資深會員Tim Huxley先生於午宴上發表了對未來一年市場前景的看法，以及香港航運業的眾多人才如何面對動盪時期可能帶來的機遇。

Tim Huxley先生現任Mandarin Shipping Limited主席，前任香港船東會副主席。他在航運業工作了40多年，其中大部分時間在香港。

Obituary for Mr. Kenneth K.W. Lo, former Association Chairman

The Executive Committee and Members of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association sincerely regret the passing away of Mr. Kenneth K.W. Lo (盧強華先生), Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (1986-1987).

Mr. Lo was a strong supporter of the Association and the maritime industry in Hong Kong.

With our deepest sympathies.

香港船東會執行委員會及會員對香港船東會前主席（1986-1987）盧強華先生的離世表示最深切的哀悼。

盧先生曾全力支持協會和香港航運業。

Panama National Day Celebration

The Consulate General of Panama hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate the Panama National Day, on 4 November 2022, at the Kowloon Shangri La Hotel. The Deputy Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR Government, Mr Horace Cheung was the guest of honour for the event. The Hong Kong Shipowners Association was represented by the Managing Director, Ms Sandy Chan who was accompanied by the Director - Regulatory Affairs, Captain Gautam Ramaswamy.

The Hong Kong Shipowners Association congratulates Panama on its National Day. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Consul General Mr Jaime Andrés Campuzano Meléndez for his generous hospitality.

Association’s Technical Director Mr Martin Cresswell attended the award presentation ceremony hosted by the Hong Kong Marine Department in recognition of the outstanding performance of shipping companies in the pursuit of high quality Hong Kong-registered ships over the past year. The award for the company with the highest gross tonnage (GT) on the Hong Kong Ship Registry was presented by Director of Marine Ms Carol Yuen, JP to the China COSCO SHIPPING Corporate Limited, as represented by Mr Qian Weizhong, Director and Vice President.

協會技術總監祁敏鈿先生出席由香港海事處主辦的頒獎典禮，向多間船公司頒發獎項，以表彰他們的團隊在過去一年致力追求優質香港註冊船舶的卓越表現。於頒獎禮上，海事處處長袁小惠女士, JP 頒發香港船舶註冊最高總噸位船東的公司予中國遠洋海運集團有限公司，並由該集團董事兼副總裁錢衛忠先生代表領獎。

Mr Guy Platten, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping, led a delegation visit to Hong Kong during the maritime week

Mr Guy Platten, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping, led a delegation visit to Hong Kong during the maritime week. During the visit, the delegation attended various maritime week activities and met with senior government officials, including Financial Secretary Mr Paul Chan, GBM, GBS, MH, JP and Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mr Lam Sai-hung, GBS, JP to exchange views on issues of interest to the global shipping community and the role of Hong Kong as a leading international maritime centre. The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR. And the delegation attended a welcome lunch hosted by Association Chairman Mr Wellington Koo, JP.

國際航運公會秘書長Guy Platten先生率團到港出席香港海事週。訪問期間，代表團出席多項海事週活動，並與政府高級官員，包括財政司司長陳茂波先生，大紫荊勳賢，GBS，MH，JP及運輸及物流局林世鴻局長，GBS，JP會面，就全球航運業及香港作為主要國際航運中心的角色等議題交換意見。代表團亦拜訪了中央人民政府駐港聯絡辦公室。代表團出席了由協會主席顧之灝先生JP安排的歡迎午宴。
