慢慢地升溫且保溫性極佳的土鍋，據說能充分引出食材最本來的美味。
無論擺放在餐桌或廚房，其靜謐的姿態都十分優美，是一件溫柔貼近日常生活的器物。

Specially requested to Nikaido for this solo exhibition: handmade donabe (clay pots).
A clay pot heats up slowly and retains heat exceptionally well, which is said to bring out the natural, authentic flavors of the ingredients.
With a beautiful, serene presence whether placed on the dining table or in the kitchen, it is a piece that gently enriches everyday life.
Only a few pieces remain available.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Nikaido’s donabe in Hong Kong, and we warmly invite you to come and see them in person.

不施釉藥的「燒締」作品，充分運用了二階堂先生生活的伊豆土壤與原土，泥土本身質樸而豐富的風貌正是其魅力所在。
另一方面，「錆器」則如金屬般的俐落洗鍊中，依然能讓人感受到陶土獨有的質地與神韻。
無論是燒締還是錆器，各自獨特的色澤與質感都能襯托料理，為餐桌增添豐富的層次。
隨著日常持續使用，器物表面會漸漸變得溫潤光滑，親手「養」出專屬於自己的器皿，也是器物生活的一大樂趣。
二階堂明弘先生的個展，展期即將於本週末 10 月 25 日（週日）結束。
雖然部分作品已經售罄，但現場依然有各類豐富的作品可供挑選欣賞。

The unglazed yakishime pieces highlight the local soil and raw clay of Izu, where Mr. Nikaido lives, drawing out the rich, natural character inherent to the clay itself.
Meanwhile, his sabiki (rust-finished ware) balances a sharp, metallic sleekness while still capturing the tactile warmth and distinct expression unique to ceramic clay.
Whether yakishime or sabiki, each piece's distinctive tone and texture beautifully complements food, adding depth and nuance to the dining table.
With continued everyday use, the surface gradually becomes smoother and more lustrous—nurturing a vessel into something uniquely your own is one of the true pleasures of living with handmade pottery.
Akihiro Nikaido’s solo exhibition will conclude this weekend on Sunday, October 25.
Although some pieces are already sold out, a wide selection of works is still available to view and enjoy.

The exhibition runs through this weekend, ending Sunday the 25th.
For this showcase, we specially requested Mr. Nikaido to craft a rich variety of teaware, including generous-capacity teapots, side-handled kyusu, and small teapots.
The more these vessels are used, the more they absorb the tea, subtly evolving in character and depth over time.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind in both form and texture—we warmly invite you to find the one that speaks to you.

二階堂先生所生活的靜岡縣伊豆半島，是一座由曾經的火山島歷經約50萬年漫長歲月漂移、最終與日本列島碰撞而成的半島。
二階堂先生認為「在地球浩瀚的時間長河之中，人的一生也罷，國家的興衰榮枯也罷，都不過是轉瞬即逝的一剎那。」
他正是沉浸在如此宏大的時間流轉中，全神貫注於每日的創作。
作為二階堂先生的作品之一，「玉殼」系列正是讓人深切感受到這份時間沉澱的創作。
每一件器皿都沒有絲毫雷同的面貌，各自展現著截然不同的景致。熔化釉藥所生出的獨特質感，宛若覆蓋大地的地表肌理，令人聯想起大自然耗費漫長歲月所雕琢出的原始風景。
請大家用雙手親自感受那寄宿於器物之中的能量。

The Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, where Nikaido resides, was formed when an ancient volcanic island drifted across roughly 500,000 years and ultimately collided with the Japanese archipelago.
Nikaido observes, “In the vast expanse of Earth’s geological time, a human lifetime or the rise and fall of nations is nothing more than a fleeting instant.” Immersed in contemplation of this grand flow of time, he dedicates himself wholeheartedly to his daily craft.
Among his works, Gyokakku (玉殻) series is a profound embodiment of this passage of time.
No two pieces share the same expression; each reveals a distinct landscape of its own. The unique texture born from the melted glaze mirrors the rugged surface of the earth, evoking primordial landscapes sculpted by nature over countless ages.
We invite you to hold these vessels in your own hands and experience the energy residing within.

Thank you so much to everyone who came on the first day.
Over the weekend, Mr. Nikaido also visited tete in person to chat and connect with visitors.
There are still plenty of wonderful pieces on display for everyone to enjoy.

Ahead of this Saturday’s exhibition in Hong Kong, we’ve received a wonderful selection of teaware from Mr. Nikaido, including teapots and teacups.
The gaiwan he was meticulously crafting right up until his departure for Hong Kong are also set to debut in-store at Gallery tete on opening day.
