"Seeds, hands, and flowers, cast and hammered in metal, are mounted, suspended, and set into movement. Working primarily with aluminium, the artist challenges the apparent rigidity of her materials, shaping them into delicate and, at times, weightless forms. The physically demanding act of transforming metal is accompanied by a slower, concentrated process of interlocking individual metal chain links, creating works that seem translucent and almost painterly. Juni, juli, augustus, …; the works take their titles after the calendar months in Dutch, tracing the changing seasons as well as well as commemorating the first year since the passing of the artist’s mother.
'You Sowed So Much I Can Bloom' takes shape around a myth of loss and transformation, and the eternal rhythm of life. Through this dedication, Sliepenbeek highlights the invisible inheritances of love, protection and trust as fertile grounds. Placing a seed and trusting that, in time, it will take root; it will bloom."

"Σπόροι, χέρια και λουλούδια, χυτά και σφυρηλατημένα σε μέταλλο, τοποθετούνται στον χώρο, κρέμονται σε ύψος και τίθενται σε κίνηση. Δουλεύοντας κυρίως με αλουμίνιο, η καλλιτέχνις αμφισβητεί την επιφανειακή ακαμψία των υλικών της, δίνοντάς τους λεπτές και ανάλαφρες μορφές. Η εργώδης προσπάθεια μεταμόρφωσης του μετάλλου συνοδεύεται από μια πιο συγκεντρωμένη, αργή διαδικασία σύνδεσης μεμονωμένων μεταλλικών αλυσίδων, παράγοντας έργα που μοιάζουν ημιδιαφανή και σχεδόν ζωγραφικά. Juni, juli, augustus, …· τα έργα παίρνουν τους τίτλους τους από τα ονόματα των μηνών στα ολλανδικά, ακολουθώντας τη διαδοχή των εποχών και μνημονεύοντας παράλληλα κάθε μήνα του πρώτου χρόνου από την απουσία της μητέρας της.
Η έκθεση 'You Sowed So Much I Can Bloom' διαμορφώνεται γύρω από ένα μύθο απώλειας και μεταμόρφωσης και τον αιώνιο ρυθμό της ζωής. Μέσα από αυτήν, η Sliepenbeek αναδεικνύει την αόρατη κληρονομιά της αγάπης, της προστασίας και της εμπιστοσύνης ως έδαφος γόνιμο. Τοποθετώντας έναν σπόρο στη γη, εμπιστεύεσαι πως, με τον καιρό, θα βγάλει ρίζες· θα ανθίσει."
