Some people collect objects.
Phil Luangrath and Favio Landeira turn collecting into art.
Tin cars, motorcycles, robots and childhood toys are gathered, arranged and transformed into intricate sculptural compositions. Objects once made for play become material for something entirely new.
At the heart of their work is memory. The familiar objects carry traces of childhood, movement and different eras of popular culture, while the act of collecting brings hundreds of individual stories together into a single work.
Look closely and the sculpture begins to change.
What first appears as one composition reveals itself object by object, each carrying a history of its own.
