Our Museum opened its doors on 1-7-2021 and currently includes 232 very rare exhibits, 32 of which are unique in the world! Our facilities feature 53 display cabinets with showcases and special lighting with additional numbering per exhibit and written explanations both in Greek and in English! Very special exhibits!

-Our oldest object is a flour hand mill dating back to 1875!
-The rarest book in our library is a handwritten book of recipes, which was written in 1913 with pen and ink by the KATAKOUZINOS family of Constantinople! The visitor can see:
-A collection of rare electric ice cream machines dating since 1935!
-A collection of rare metallic chocolate molds! Unique collectible metallic molds for chocolate decorations!
-A library of rare recipe books with sketch illustrations (photo printing was not possible at that time), featuring sweets and techniques from 1892 to 1966!
-Photos of pastry chefs and display windows of patisseries and pastry workshops of the old times!
-Very rare raw materials!
-Improvised pre-war pastry and chocolate making tools!
-Pre-war scales that measure weight in okkas and dirhems!
-Packaging boxes from historic pastry shops that are no longer in business!

Admission fee per person with free browsing: 6€
Interactive tour by a confectioner: 10 € per person for a minimum number of 4 participants. Duration of interactive tour: 40 minutes. Special prices for special categories of visitors. Special prices for schools and pastry schools. The admission fee includes free coffee or soft drink. Free admission for confectioners! Estimated tour duration: 40 minutes. Estimated interactive tour duration: 50-60 minutes. INTERACTIVE TOUR by a confectioner! You will have the opportunity to see how they used to make brine for the ice cream, how they used to make ice cream with ice in the hand-operated sorbet maker, and many more! SEMINARS AND EVENTS:
You will have the opportunity to participate in seminars, which are planned to take place in the near future, on sweets and baked goods that are included in recipe books of 1892 onwards. The topic of the first seminar will be:
"Cakes in the era of the kings and how they used to make baking powder and confectionery flavouring"
Finally, we have an outdoor space with a sitting capacity of 70 persons, where you can enjoy our traditional Cretan sweets with a refreshing drink or some coffee! Our store implements ISO 22000 and HACCP. Our Museum and pastry shop comply with all the necessary protection measures against COVID 19. The Museum has state-of-the-art lighting and security systems.
