Mati Art Gallery in Fira is the main venue where visual artist Yorgos Kypris displays his work. It was established in 1990 in Santorini, an island in constant motion, shaped and changed by the forces of nature and social interactions. Within the framework of a society which is influenced by universal and local dynamics, Mati Art Gallery is committed to following the developments, while it remains faithful to its values, as an exponent of fine taste and contemporary perceptions about art.

Cruise ships bring about 1.5 million visitors per season to Santorini. These short-term visitors stop by our island during their holidays, enjoying the most central locations for merely a few hours. The cruise ships contribute to the contrasting nature of this beautiful place: some parts can bustle with crowds while others are entirely serene and empty. From MATI Fira, on the caldera over the old port, we see the cruise ships come and go and welcome many of you in our gallery! This is just one way that a boat can connect people and cultures from accross the world. A symbol for exchange and rebirth, the boats are dominant both in Yorgos Kypris' practice and in our daily life in Santorini.

Σε συνεργασία με το Boozery Bar, σας προσκαλούμε να έρθετε νωρίς, να γνωρίσετε τον William XO, να εξερευνήσετε τον χώρο και να απολαύσετε ένα ποτό πριν ξεκινήσει η παρουσίαση του άλμπουμ του ONEIROS.

Η καλλιτεχνική φιλοξενία του WILLIAM XO αποτέλεσε τη δημιουργική εστία του επερχόμενου άλμπουμ Oneiros. Σε συνεργασία με τον παραγωγό Γιώργο Δεληγιάννη, με έδρα την Αθήνα, το έργο ρίζωσε ακόμη περισσότερο μέσα στην Ελλάδα, ενώ η Σαντορίνη προσέφερε το κατάλληλο περιβάλλον ώστε οι ιδέες του να ωριμάσουν πλήρως.

WILLIAM XO artist residency at MATI became the creative home of Oneiros, his new album. In collaboration with Athens-based producer George Deligiannis, the project became further rooted in Greece, while Santorini provided the environment in which its ideas could fully mature.

ΜΑΤΙ Santorini σε συνεργασια με το Boozery Bar

Είμαστε περήφανοι που καλωσορίζουμε ξανά τον William XO, τον πρώτο μας καλλιτέχνη σε φιλοξενία, σε αυτή τη βραδιά που παρουσιάζει το μουσικό και το εικαστική έργο που ανέπτυξε σε διάλογο με το τοπίο της Σαντορίνης.

Ηλεκτρονικοί ρυθμοί και στοιχεία προσανατολισμένα σε κλαμπ συνυπάρχουν με πιο πειραματικά, κινηματογραφικά και ονειρικά ηχοτοπία, επιτρέποντας στιγμές περισυλλογής αλλά και κίνησης. Στόχος είναι να δημιουργηθεί μια καθηλωτική εμπειρία όπου η μουσική, ο χώρος και η εικαστική τέχνη γίνονται μέρος της ίδιας ιστορίας

ΜΑΤΙ Santorini in collaboration with Boozery Bar

We are proud to present William XO, our first artist in residence, in this gathering that brings together the music and visual work that he developed in dialogue with Santorini's landscape.

Rather than presenting the album as a traditional DJ or live set, the performance expands its sonic universe. Electronic rhythms and club-oriented elements coexist with more experimental, cinematic, and dreamlike soundscapes, allowing moments of contemplation as well as movement. The goal is to create an immersive experience where music, space, and visual art become part of the same story. #
