«The sea gypsies of the Bajau Laut tribe are among the last remaining sea nomads. For centuries, they have lived their lives entirely at sea, on the oceans between Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
They live in longboats known as “lepa lepa,” or in floating wooden houses on stilts built in shallow waters, surviving by fishing and gathering natural marine resources. The lives of these hunter-gatherers revolve around spiritual respect for the sea.»

« “Liquid Silver” is a process involving the silver scraps accumulated in the workshop over recent years—offcuts, discarded test pieces, castings, or chain fragments. I arrange them into various random compositions before applying heat. This causes the silver to liquify, allowing the fragments to fuse together. When the resulting pattern appeals to me, I stop applying heat, letting the
incandescent form cool and set.
Finally, I flatten and stretch the pieces using a rolling mill,
revealing new, unexpected forms that remind me of river delta maps and the shadows of foliage.»

Uni.versus Art Room opens its new exhibition season with “Vers l’Aigua / About Water”, bringing the Spanish contemporary jewellery group Joyas Sensacionales, Joyas Sensacionales, into dialogue with two major works by Greek visual artist Giota Vorgia, Giota Vorgia 🌸 Art.
Opening: 10 September 2026 at 7:30 p.m.
On show until 1 October 2026.
With water as its central theme—as a source of life, a vessel of memory and an element of culture—the exhibition explores humanity’s timeless relationship with one of nature’s most fundamental elements.
From our everyday need for water and the ways in which it is managed, to its symbolic presence in traditions, rituals and art, water becomes a point of departure for reflections on scarcity, transformation, memory and human experience.
Through their individual artistic languages, the members of Joyas Sensacionales approach the theme through works of contemporary jewellery, expressing a range of experiences and concerns.
In dialogue with these pieces, Giota Vorgia presents two works centred on stone and water, exploring the coexistence of stability and movement, as well as the continual transformation arising from their interaction.
