MEΛΕΤΩΝΤΑΣ «ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΙΚΑ ΧΑΛΚΑ»
Το 2026 ξεκίνησε μια νέα συνεργασία με το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΜΘ) και το Πανεπιστήμιο της Lille για τη μελέτη 161 αρχαίων μπρούτζινων κοσμημάτων της συλλογής, που ανήκουν στην κατηγορία των λεγόμενων «Μακεδονικών Χαλκών». Τα κοσμήματα μελετώνται από διεπιστημονική ομάδα και αναλύονται με σύγχρονες μεθόδους στο Εργαστήριο Αρχαιομετρίας του ΑΜΘ.

INVESTIGATING “MACEDONIAN BRONZES”
In 2026, a new collaboration was launched with the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (AMTh) and the University of Lille to study 161 bronze ornaments from our collection, belonging to the category of the so-called “Macedonian Bronzes”. The ornaments are being studied by an interdisciplinary team of scholars and analysed at the Archaeometry Laboratory of the AMTh.

Mε επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 7-8 Φεβρουαρίου το σεμιναριακό εργαστήριο EΠΑΝΑΠΡΟΣΔΙΟΡΙΖΟΝΤΑΣ ΤΗΝ ΑΚΡΟΠΟΛΗ: ΠΑΡΕΛΘΟΝ ΜΕ ΜΕΛΛΟΝ, που διοργανώθηκε σε συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Ελληνικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου Harvard στην Ελλάδα. Ευχαριστούμε την Δρ Ελισάβετ Σιουμπάρα για τις ενδιαφέρουσες παρουσιάσεις, το Μουσείο Ιστορίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών για τη φιλοξενία και όλους όσους παρακολούθησαν το εργαστήριο για την ενεργό συμμετοχή τους.

��Τhe seminar-workshop RESHAPING ACROPOLIS: PAST WITH A FUTURE (in Greek), co-organized with the Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece, was completed with great success in 7-8 February 2026. We thank Dr Elisavet Sioubara for the fascinating presentations, the Athens University Museum of History for the hospitality, and all the participants for their engagement in the workshop.

Δεκαπέντε αντικείμενα από τη συλλογή του Μουσείου Κανελλοπούλου συμμετέχουν στην έκθεση «A JOURNEY TO ANCIENT GREECE «, που παρουσιάζεται στο Μουσείο του Liangzhu στην Κίνα από 30.01 έως 31.07.2026. Η έκθεση δίνει μια συνοπτική εικόνα της αρχαίας ελληνικής ιστορίας μέσα από περίπου 180 αρχαιολογικά αντικείμενα από όλη την Ελλάδα. Σχεδιάστηκε από τη Διεύθυνση Αρχαιολογικών Μουσείων, Εκθέσεων και Εκπαιδευτικών Προγραμμάτων του ΥΠΠΟ. Δείτε το βίντεο της έκθεσης:

Fifteen objects from the collection of CAMU participate in the exhibition “A JOURNEY TO ANCIENT GREECE”, which is presented at the Liangzhu Museum in China from 30.01 to 31.07.2026. The exhibition offers an overview of ancient Greek history through approximately 180 archaeological objects from all over Greece. Διαγνωστικός έλεγχος. Bυζαντινές και μεταβυζαντινές εικόνες εξετάζονται με μεθόδους ακτινογράφησης και αξονικής τομογραφίας για να διερευνηθεί η τεχνολογία κατασκευής και η κατάσταση διατήρησής τους. Ευχαριστούμε τη Δ/νση Συντήρησης Αρχαίων και Νεωτέρων Μνημείων του ΥΠΠΟ για την άδεια, το Διαγνωστικό Κέντρο ΙΑΤΡΟΠΟΛΙΣ (υποκ. Αργυρούπολης) για τον εξοπλισμό, και τους ερευνητές Γ. Μαστροθεόδωρο, Γ. Βάκρινο και Α. Μπεκιάρη για την επιστημονική επιμέλεια.

Μedical check. Byzantine and Post-byzantine paintings are examined with X-ray imaging and CT Scan to identify their technical characteristics and state of preservation. We thank the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments (Ministry of Culture) for the permission, the IATROPOLIS Medical Group (Argyroupolis Center) for the infrastructure, and the researchers G. Mastrotheodoros, G. Vakrinos and A. Bekiaris for the scientific documentation.

Το Μουσείο Κανελλοπούλου συμμετέχει στο ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα «Πιλοτικές Δράσεις Πολιτιστικής Συνταγογράφησης» του ΥΠΠΟ με τη δράση ΠΑΡΑΘΥΡΑ ΣΤΟ ΠΑΡΕΛΘΟΝ: ΑΝΑΚΑΛΥΠΤΟΝΤΑΣ ΤΑ ΜΥΣΤΙΚΑ ΕΝΟΣ ΜΟΥΣΕΙΟΥ. Το πρόγραμμα αφορά την εισαγωγή δράσεων τέχνης με θεραπευτική επίδραση στο πεδίο της Ψυχικής Υγείας και υλοποιείται σε συνεργασία με το Ερευνητικό Πανεπιστημιακό Ινστιτούτο Ψυχικής Υγείας, Νευροεπιστημών και Ιατρικής Ακρίβειας «Κώστας Στεφανής» (ΕΠΙΨΥ). The CAMU participates in the “Art on Prescription” research program of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture with a workshop titled WINDOWS INTO THE PAST: EXPLORING THE SECRETS OF A MUSEUM. The program aims to introduce a range of art-based activities with beneficial effects in the field of mental health, aiming to promote the well-being of citizens. Στις 9-11 Οκτωβρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε στον επιβλητικό χώρο της εν Αθήναις Αρχαιολογικής Εταιρείας το διεθνές συνέδριο «Ο MYKHΝΑΪΚΟΣ ΚΟΣΜΟΣ – 37 χρόνια μετά: στα ερευνητικά μονοπάτια της Καίτης Δημακοπούλου», που συνδιοργάνωσαν το Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο, η εν Αθήναις Αρχαιολογική Εταιρεία, το Μουσείο Παύλου και Αλεξάνδρας Κανελλοπούλου και ο Οργανισμός Διαχείρισης και Ανάπτυξης Πολιτιστικών Πόρων. Ευχαριστούμε όλους τους ομιλητές και όλες τις ομιλήτριες για τις εξαιρετικές παρουσιάσεις. Τα Πρακτικά του συνεδρίου θα εκδοθούν σύντομα σε τόμο.

On 9-11 October, in the imposing lecture hall of the Archaeological Society at Athens, the international conference “THE MYCENAEAN WORLD– 37 years later: on the research paths of Katie Demakopoulou” took place. The conference was organized by the National Archaeological Museum, the Archaeological Society at Athens, the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Museum and the Hellenic Organization of Cultural Resources Development. We thank all speakers for the excellent presentations. The Proceedings will be published soon.
