ELEVEN SONS by BAREBOYSLAB

Eleven Sons brings together fragments from bareboyslab’s evolving archive of images, studies and experiments.
Borrowing its title and structure from Franz Kafka’s Eleven Sons, the exhibition considers the archive through repetition, comparison and the judging gaze, where desire, memory and projection shape how bodies and images are perceived.

bareboyslab is an open laboratory across photography, fine art and performance, curated by Vladimir Vanenkov Vladimir Vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov k______b. At its center is the encounter between camera, subject and viewer, and the image that emerges between them.

Thank you to everyone who came to SOOOON SPACE on August 22 and made this night so special. It was unforgettable to see so many beautiful people, familiar and new faces, watching, listening and sharing the evening with us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came for the opening of Eleven Sons by BAREBOYSLAB, curated by Vladimir Vanenkov Vladimir Vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov k______b. Seeing the project come alive surrounded by so many people meant a lot to us.

Special love and thanks to Daria Yablonko Daria Yablonko and Maksim Klyushnikov the performance Love Having Fan, performed by Vrode Diana, slufgi, Yasha and Militsa Clifford Kroshkina . Thank you for such an intense and unforgettable experience. You were incredible.

Evgeny Bylina is a cultural theorist and musician exploring memory and nostalgia through both artistic and academic lenses. Drawing on the concept of hauntology and phenomenology of listening, Evgeny examines how the past resonates within contemporary sonic cultures, evoking forgotten or repressed histories. His musical works, which he terms “love ambient”, blend modern classical sensitivity with lo-fi radio electronics and loops of bygone, long-forgotten romantic pop music.

At the upcoming concert, Evgeny Bylina will present works from his albums alongside new material created for a recent installation at the National Gallery of Armenia. In his concerts, Bylina explores the tropes of classic ambient through asynchronous composition, found tapes, and granular processing of acoustic instruments. Mournful and melancholic loops meet a late-night jazz feeling, creating a space somewhere between intimate listening and dreamlike hallucination. Imagine music to be listened to while staring at the ceiling of the Black Lodge behind red curtains. This Saturday, this delusional recital will unfold at SOOOON SPACE.

BULLET SIZE FAIRY is an experimental solo project by multidisciplinary artist Aleksei Abakhtimov, who works across different media. It is a space where he brings together animation, 3D, digital art and, above all, music.

BULLET SIZE FAIRY project mainly focuses on exploration of the space between vulnerability and force. Gentle melodies slowly build before breaking into sudden bursts of noise and distortion. Organic sounds blend with synthetic textures, while themes of flight, transformation, and our connection to air and water run throughout the music. Violence and conflict remain recurring subjects, as Aleksei is drawn to the moment when the softest, most fragile things suddenly collide with something overwhelming.

On August 22, BULLET SIZE FAIRY will perform live at SOOOON SPACE, marking Aleksei’s debut performance in Tbilisi and the first public presentation of material from the upcoming third album. Moving away from the claustrophobic atmosphere of the previous records, the new album reaches toward something lighter and more spacious, exploring escapism not as avoidance, but as a necessary way of imagining a gentler future.
The live set will bring together flute, vocals and electronics, offering a first glimpse into this new landscape.

bareboyslab is an open laboratory of fine art, photography and performance, curated by artists Vladimir Vanenkov Vladimir Vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov k______b. At the center of the laboratory is a practice of working with boys, primarily non-professional models, where the camera becomes not so much a tool for documentation as a means of encounter and a shared exploration of the image.
The practice moves away from conventional acting and predetermined outcomes in favor of repetition, simple actions and a state in which a person stops performing themselves and simply begins to be present.

On August 22, bareboyslab presents its current state through Eleven Sons — a one-day exhibition and presentation of the laboratory, unfolding as an ever-growing archive of boys. Photographs are assembled into series, transformed into objects and combined with texts, existing between portrait and catalogue, personal encounter and a display of images.

“The performance «FOREST» is a conversation between forest creatures that we have accidentally overheard.
And you are merely witnesses to this hidden dialogue.”

Through sound and visual imagery, the performance invites the audience into the mysterious world of forest creatures — a world of secrets, stories, and unseen connections. The flute becomes a crack in the fabric of reality, a passage between different realms, while the musician takes on the role of a mediator, connecting these worlds.

In the visual artist’s works, creatures exist on the threshold between worlds — between the human and the mythical, the physical and the spiritual. Human-angels, winged figures, and fantastical hybrid forms inhabit an imagined garden, creating a space where the boundaries between reality and imagination become fluid.

The performance brings together two artistic practices — sound and visual art — revealing how different mediums can be inspired by a shared theme and merge into a unique immersive universe.

On May 7, gallery will host an exhibition marking the outcome of a month-long collaboration with the community.

Over the course of the month, the gallery’s curators selected works where not only the result matters, but the process of searching itself. This exhibition captures a moment of becoming — when an artist is not yet fixed in form, but already speaks in their own language.

Opening at 7:00 PM. The evening will be accompanied by music sets by , creating a sonic environment where the visual continues to resonate.

Free admission — an opportunity to witness the emergence of young artistic voices.
