At 14.00 on Sunday June 28 at Imphal Barracks in York, Lt Col (retired) Paul Corden will give a free illustrated talk about the Chindits, their origins, operations & significance. Paul Corden is former Executive Officer, HQ 77th Brigade, Chindit Society Committee Member & Burma Star Memorial Fund Trustee. In addition, Jo Cowley will speak about her father Lt Colonel ‘Scotty’ Scott, who commanded Chindit columns in Operations Longcloth & Thursday.
After these talks, Kohima Museum will open a free exhibition about the Chindits. Most of the exhibits will be on loan from private collections belonging to the families of Chindits. This is a unique opportunity to see artefacts never previously displayed in public. From June 28 to August 29, the Chindit Exhibition will be open to visitors every Thursday from 10.00 until 13.15.
