What a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning.

The morning saw lots of wonderful designs and creativity during our make a celebration card kids workshop. Thank you to Nadia Chalk for bringing her skills and running the session as part of our tenth Birthday celebration week.

In March during Creativity Continues, Sarah Sepe won a prize of a weeks exhibition in Gallery Two. Her entries were small, 3D sculptures made of paper, paint and wire which resulted in a new body of work which is still evolving.

Garden Perspectives shows the pieces alongside test pieces, all made with no end in sight, full of exploring, discovering, and testing materials in her studio upstairs.

Sarah Trowsdale joined our studios in 2024 after receiving funding from Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice. Sarah has continued to use her studio as a creative space to develop new ideas through her research & textile practice.

Sarah makes work that explores little known women through history who have been physically engaged in warfare, rebellion or acts of aggression against oppressors. You can see one of Sarah's quilts representing these women in our Alumni Exhibition.

In 2023, Mel Elston-Mendones held his first solo exhibition for over a decade at Colonnade House.

Mel says; “I love exhibiting at Colonnade House. The gallery enables me to stretch boundaries and break new ground and, as an artist who lives and works locally, I always feel welcome here. I hope to tour with this collection, to widen and deepen the discourse on diaspora and liminality.”

Mel has been back over the years, continuing to showcase his work. You can see two of Mel's pieces in our Alumni Exhibition, open until Saturday, 10.00 - 17.00.

Liz English first exhibited at Colonnade House, in the depths of winter in February 2022, and brought her colourful & vibrant artwork to our gallery.

Liz has also been the driving force behind our fantastic exhibitions with SOLD (Shoreham Opportunities For Learning Differences), supporting the trainees to design their own artwork & products.

Liz's first exhibition 'From the Sublime to the Colourfully Ridiculous' featured the artwork 'Look Up and Feel the Magic of Green' which was shortlisted for Royal Academy 2021 Summer Exhibition.

You can see this piece on display for in our Alumni Exhibition this week until Saturday, open 10.00 - 17.00.
