Before I discovered this wonderful Art form I was an established Bear Artist who handmade all types of traditional jointed bears for the collector. My bears would range from lovely soft, cute cuddly teddy bears to the more realistic looking polar bears, grizzly’s, black bears and cubs. I self taught myself to create my be
ars in January, 2002 and then one day in September 2004, while exhibiting them at a specialist Doll & Teddy fair, I stumbled across a lady with a stall full of reborn babies. I had never seen any dolls that looked so realistic before and became absolutely fascinated by them. I purchased one for my daughter who collected porcelain dolls and had always wanted a realistic baby doll to add to her collection. But on bringing this doll home found that I myself became absolutely transfixed and fascinated by it. I found it brought out all of my maternal instincts again, as I so loved my own children at this very special stage in their lives. It really is such a precious time and one I always wished would last forever. Anyway I felt that this was now something that I would like to have a go at myself and after many nights surfing the internet and Ebay found out information on how to get started and where I could purchase some supplies. As soon as they came I got to work on my first reborn baby whom I named Aaron after my 5-month-old nephew. I found this art form a complete contrast from my bears as it didn't involve as much sewing. Since then I have become hooked and have never looked back, although my husband did think at the time that I had gone totally crazy!!! I spend a great deal of time on each little baby that I create and use only the very best quality materials. I often resource my supplies from across the world, so that I can make the very best quality reborn baby for collectors to hand down to the next generation. I always strive to make each little creation (whether it be a bear or a baby) as realistic and lifelike as I possibly can and always something that I myself have already fallen in love with. They are all made with lots of tender loving care and I never rush any process along the way. Rest assured I would never ever put up for adoption anything that I would not be happy to purchase myself. I hope that the quality of my work shines through in each of my creations, as they are genuinely made from love. I get such pleasure from making a baby look and feensl so lifelike that you feel like it could be real. I get an even bigger thrill from all of the lovely feedback I receive from my customers once they have seen and held their new addition, as they in turn genuinely get a great deal of pleasure themselves from the work that I so love to do. Since I discovered these beautiful Art forms I have had an amazing response, meeting some lovely people and making some fantastic new friends. So I would just like to take this opportunity to "Thank you All" so much for all your support and encouragement over the past 4 1/2 years.
