The Creation Centre at Legoland Windsor opened at the end of 2000. The new complex had a bold glass fronted rotunda overlooking the beautiful hillside across the park down to Windsor on the horizon and was originally home to a new Lego model workshop, Lego Racers, a small exhibition on the history of Lego and a shop.
It was initially sponsored by Virgin Airlines and so a lot of features in the main atrium featured Virgin branded aeroplane models, including a giant walk-in cockpit model. The Lego history exhibition was contained in a small room on the ground floor, though it was very soon moved to the top floor and the room used for the Crown Jewels exhibition.
On the upper floor guests could watch the park's own model team building in the workshop through a gallery window!
