Mina Cullimore Arts

My journey, dancing between being and becoming (as an educator, a researcher, an artist, a musician, a writer, a crafter, a community engagement practitioner), is coalescing into its next stage.

Saying a fond farewell to my small studio, and moving next door to a space where I can delve, do, and welcome people to explore aspects of the interactions between creativity and the worlds within and beyond our selves.

Goodness… how lovely to see this image from last year’s weaving in the creative space I was facilitating… and wonderful to be invited back to this jewel of a festival again this year!!

WE WILL BE WEAVING HOPE AT Where The Light Begins Festival next weekend!

What happens when we give hope a little space to grow?

At Where The Light Begins Festival , artist Mina Cullimore will be inviting us all to pause, make and create together.

Through beautiful, hands-on creative activities, we’ll be weaving our hopes and dreams into something we can see and share. A thought, a wish, a possibility. Perhaps even the smallest spark of hope, given a little attention, can begin to glow more brightly.

Come and sit for a while. Make something with your hands. Add your hopes to those of others.

Because hope doesn’t always arrive as a great blaze of light. Sometimes it begins quietly, with a tiny spark, a piece of thread, an idea, or something made together.

And perhaps, when we bring all those small sparks together, the light begins. ☀️

WHERE THE LIGHT BEGINS

Such a rewarding day running creative printing sessions with older teen refugees. Building skills, language and interactions with young people who have faced many life challenges is humbling - and teens are teens in any workshop/art class setting. Smiles and feelings of satisfaction as each print emerged - so lovely to facilitate and witness this.

There are changes occurring at the Artful Moments studio space.

I so loved working with the family who booked this session. They worked through making their choices in terms of colour and design, bringing in memories of a beloved father/grandfather.

This may be one of the final sessions at the Hersden studio - if you are interested in having a family/group or hen/birthday session, DM or email me.

So inspiring to see how families move through this creative experience together, balancing spontaneity and thoughtfulness in their design decisions.
Another lovely session today!
