🖼️ Thomas Gainsborough – Arguably the greatest artist of the late 18th Century, Thomas Gainsborough's talent was unparalleled. Renowned for his captivating landscapes, he also played a significant role in founding the Royal Academy.

Thomas Gainsborough's love for nature began in his childhood, where he honed his skills capturing breath-taking landscapes that would define his artistic brilliance. At just thirteen, he moved to London to study under the guidance of Hubert-François Gravelot, igniting his artistic journey.

📅 Today, you can admire Gainsborough's talent right here at our museum, with his exquisite portraits of Weston-super-Mare's own Reverend Wadham Pigott and John Pigott.
