Through original, hand-carved texts and iconography made in a variety of materials, Matt reflects on what it means to live a ‘good life’ and strives to find humour, empathy, and common ground with all creatures.

Matt Loughlin is a traditionally trained letter-cutter and stone carver. Using time-honoured tools and techniques, he creates fine art and bespoke memorials in stone.
He draws and carves all of his work by hand, in the old-school way, ensuring that each piece is unique. Alongside creating fine art, he undertakes commissions for gravestones and cremation plaques. Helping people celebrate the lives of their loved ones in unique and creative ways is deeply meaningful to him and informs everything else he creates.

Matt’s goal as an artist and craftsperson is to bring an impactful, contemporary voice to the traditional craft of letter-cutting and stone carving, exploring big-question themes through a combination of relief carving and original, hand-lettered inscriptions.

A great lover of art and history, both strongly influence his work. Matt draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources, ranging from historical monuments and folk art to traditional calligraphy and modern art. Through his work, he aims to inspire people to pause, reflect, and appreciate life in all its wonder, drama and complexity.

Peter Jones is best known for his tenderly observed still-life paintings of vintage soft-toys which he collects for this purpose. Keeping company with this ever expanding menagerie are various other found objects - sea-shells in particular - which have been drawn in by the gravity of the studio. However, it is upon the toy animals, those lost or abandoned surrogates of childhood trust and solace that his gaze lingers. Chosen primarily for their potential to be painted, the toys are self-evidently about love, longing, faith and faithfulness, vulnerability, helplessness, and disillusionment.

Born in Birmingham in 1968, Peter Jones studied Fine Art at Reading University from 1988-92, and now lives in London where for the last twenty years he has worked from his studio in Hackney Wick.

Peter has an exhibition history dating back to 1996 when he was selected for The Whitechapel Open. Other London group exhibition venues include The Drawing Room, David Risley Gallery, Pump House Gallery, The Royal Academy, Guildhall Art Gallery, Mall Galleries, Newington Gallery, and Collyer Bristow Gallery.

Lisa Ivory creates oil paintings and works on paper depicting fantastical creatures often erotically entwined with women. Her work is inspired by fairy tales, myths, and folklore, such as the tale of the Beauty and the Beast. Like these narratives, Ivory’s works allegorize the fear and attraction to otherness. In Ivory’s sensual paintings, illustrating sexual encounters under the semi-darkness of twilight, humans and beasts appear to couple tenderly. Her paintings and drawings of human-animal hybrids also reveal her creatures’ underlying innocence. Ivory’s fantasy world challenges conventional divisions between civilization and nature while insisting that humans possess animalistic qualities.
Ivory received a BA from Central Saint Martins in 1988. She has exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery, the Barbican Arts Group Trust’s Project Space, Lubomirov/Angus-Hughes gallery, Fragment gallery (NY), Pori Art Museum, Charlie Smith gallery, Ricco/Maresca (NY), Samuele Visentin gallery and Sim Smith gallery.

Cathy Snelling grew up in Somerset and from a young age was making characters out of recycled boxes, fabric and trinkets.

Infusing inanimate objects with personality and humour, her works draw inspiration from archaeological relics, myths, and ancient customs and puppetry. Cathy’s passion for sewing is evident in her preference for hand stitching, a process that not only calms her mind but also allows her to delve into the hidden layers of everyday life.

Her work involves using vintage fabrics and left-behind sewing memorabilia. By creating individual items that are ultimately drawn together to form a final piece with multiple layers and hidden characters, it invokes a metaphor for trying to fit into the world — a theme that subtly influences her work throughout.

Cathy is an avid collector of vintage fabrics and accessories, such as buttons, pincushions, and thread, which she treasures as valuable elements of her creative process.

Alongside her artistic practice, Cathy Snelling has worked as a model-maker, costume-maker and rigger along with puppet maintenance for films that include Chicken Run, The House, Fantastic Mr Fox, Fireman Sam, Shaun the Sheep and The Koala Brothers for clients including Aardman, 3 Mills Studios and Nexus Studios.

Kerry Jameson trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and the Royal College of Art. Her ceramic and mixed media sculptures are inspired by the flow of things seen every day, as well as by the art she looks at from the past. Drawing on found imagery, historical references, and personal observation, her work explores the tension between the familiar and the surreal, often evoking a sense of disquiet and wonder.

She has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, with solo exhibitions at Marsden Woo Gallery including The Matter Series (2023), Battle-Worn Series (2022), The Contingency (2018), Alchemy (2016), Unbounded (2013), and Conflicts (2009), as well as solo shows at Lacoste Gallery in the United States. Her work has featured in major group exhibitions such as Material Earth at Messums Wiltshire, Masters of British Studio Pottery at Collect, Singapore Ceramics Now at Gillman Barracks, Australian Ceramics Triennale, Studio: Ceramicists and their Studios at Ruthin Crafts Centre, NCECA at Belger Arts (USA), SOFA (Chicago and New York), the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Crafts Council at the V&A.

Kaye Blegvad (b. 1987) is a British American illustrator and artist. She works across a wide range of media, from drawings and paintings to sculpture, publications, metalwork, and conceptual pieces. Across these various materials, she explores themes around identity, mental health, social power, subjugation, and the collective.

Many of her pieces depict a snippet of narrative or ‘action’, making visual metaphors often drawn from medieval imagery, religious parables, or folk tales. Imagery is revisited repeatedly, as drawings and paintings inspire or respond to sculptures, iterating on the characters and themes. She has also published two books, and has self published numerous zines and artists books.
