🎨 SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY! 🎨

What an exhibition we're having so far at The Hatch!

If you've not yet had the chance to visit 'Power of 3', you're missing a treat – even if I do say so myself!

✨ Today's spotlight is on the wonderful Gail Eglin and her stunning collection, 'At the Edge of a Velvet Tide.'

Now, here's something rather special...

You'll probably recognise some elements within Gail's work from New Brighton's fabulous Open Air Gallery. Those wonderful murals we've all come to know and love have been given a completely new lease of life, reimagined as beautiful cyanotype artworks.

And they really are something else!

There's something quite magical about seeing these familiar pieces transformed through this fascinating photographic process, with its gorgeous, distinctive blue tones.

You might not be able to take one of New Brighton's murals off the wall (please don't try! 😂), but you CAN own one of Gail's beautiful interpretations and take a little piece of our local art scene home with you!

💬 Now, we'd love to get you talking.... What do you think about street art reimagined?
Love to hear from you.

🖼️ 'Power of 3' runs until Saturday 7 November.
And also features Collette Collinge Christine Holme

🎨 NEW EXHIBITION | POWER OF 3 🎨

We’re delighted to announce the opening of Power of 3, our new exhibition at The Hatch Gallery, New Brighton, bringing together three distinctive artists and three very different creative voices.

* Collette Collinge – Seas The Moment
Inspired by the sea, our local coastline and the character of New Brighton beach life, Collette’s work captures both the power of the water and the quirky, humorous side of life by the shore.

* Gail Eglin – At the Edge of a Velvet Tide
Gail brings together photography, cyanotype and collagraph techniques to create richly layered and atmospheric work, exploring image, texture and the creative possibilities of print.

* Christine Holme – Return to Iona
Christine’s collection draws inspiration from the landscape, atmosphere and enduring pull of Iona, creating work with a strong sense of place and connection.

Three artists. Three individual perspectives. One exhibition.

📅 Power of 3 opens Friday 25th September
📍 The Hatch Gallery & Events Space
116 Victoria Road, New Brighton, CH45 2JF

Come along, discover the work and perhaps find a piece you’d love to take home.

That's a wrap for ' Oh I do Like To' exhibition.

Thank you to everyone who came, who bought artwork, who just viewed the work and who supported us. As a small independent gallery it absolutely means the world. We wouldn't be here without you.... Thank you.

To the 43 artists who took part, you're amazing and it's been a pleasure working with you. I had the privilege of choosing your fabulous work and if I could buy it all myself I would. Please keep applying, please keep challenging us with your work, it needs to be seen.

Have an enjoyable weekend everyone. Chin chin!

In June this year I had the pleasure of meeting Jacob Kendall who is a student at St Mary's Catholic College, Wallasey. Jacob had designed the poster for the school exhibition taking place in The Hatch called 'People and Places'.

His design and artistic interpretation was standout so we decided to commission him to draw The Hatch.

Today Jacob kindly presented us with the finished work and we love it! Thanks Jacob for taking on the Commission, working to the brief and providing such a lovely piece of work. We wish you all the best for the future.

Ps, Jacobs already considering entering our next open call, so do look out for his work ...he's one to watch.
