Join us aboard The Golden Hinde on Monday 12 October for an evening of quizzing, drinks and a little Halloween silliness below deck!

With Halloween just around the corner, you can expect at least one spooky-themed round, and costumes are very much encouraged. Gather your friends, colleagues, nemeses or fiercest quiz rivals and see who comes out on top.

What a summer aboard The Golden Hinde!

Over five weeks, our Summer of Survival programme took families from the decks of a Tudor ship to some of the world's most challenging environments.

We explored what it took to survive a sixteenth-century voyage around the world, journeyed to the Arctic and Antarctic, and got hands-on with the skills sailors have relied upon for centuries - from ropework and knot tying to navigation and scrimshaw.

And the adventure didn't quite end with the summer holidays! Our Ropecraft and Scrimshaw workshops returned for Heritage Open Days, with both sessions completely selling out.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a summer of exploring, making and discovering aboard the ship. 💛

30 years at St Mary Overie Dock!

On Saturday, we welcomed friends, colleagues and supporters aboard The Golden Hinde to celebrate three decades since the ship first arrived in Bankside in September 1996.

It was a lovely evening of drinks, music, 90s nostalgia and plenty of familiar faces, bringing together people who have been part of the ship's story over the years.

The party rounded off a busy day of celebrations, which also saw us turn back the clock with our original 1996 admission prices, alongside two sold-out family workshops for Heritage Open Days.

Thank you to everyone who joined us aboard, and to everyone who has been part of The Golden Hinde's story over the past three decades.

Here's to the next 30 years! 🥂⚓

We’re going back to 1996. ⚓

This September marks 30 years since The Golden Hinde arrived at St Mary Overie Dock - and to celebrate, we’re turning back the clock on our ticket prices!

On Saturday 12 September, from 12-4pm, step aboard for the same admission price visitors paid back in 1996:

Adults – £2
Children – £1

For one afternoon only, explore The Golden Hinde at our historic 1996 admission prices and help us celebrate three decades here on Bankside.

Remembering the incomparable Tim Curry, whose portrayal of Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island remains one of the most beloved pirate performances ever put to screen.

We were honoured that The Golden Hinde played a small part in that much-loved film.

We’ve been so excited to see such a fantastic response to our Thirsty Thursdays! Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to cancel our upcoming event on Thursday 20 August.

We’re hopeful that Thursday 27 August will go ahead as planned, and we’d love to welcome you aboard then.

One week to go until our next Museum Late aboard The Golden Hinde!

From storms and navigation to food, illness and isolation, Survival at Sea explores the challenges faced by sailors on long-distance voyages through a relaxed evening of short talks, informal interpretation and after-hours exploration of the ship.

🍻 The Hinde Bar will be open throughout the evening, making this the perfect opportunity to enjoy history, atmosphere and a drink on deck.
