New Arrival at Toddington!
Visitors to the railway today may spot a rather special new addition at Toddington… Saloon Coach No. 80975 has arrived from the Llangollen Railway this week and will soon be available for private hire on our services!

With its beautifully appointed interior and historic charm, this unique vehicle offers a truly exclusive way to travel along the line – perfect for small parties and special occasions.

Royal Connections: This very saloon was graced by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh during a visit to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway in June 2000.

Our trains are running between Broadway and Winchcombe only this week as the Pway gang are working hard at the southern end of the line to replace a turnout at Cheltenham Racecourse.

They have done a stirling job and without them we would not be able to run trains for you to enjoy.

Looking for something to do this February Half Term? 🚂

The GWSR will be running steam trains from Broadway to Winchcombe only* from Saturday 14th – Sunday 22nd February.

Bring the family along for a scenic trip through the Cotswolds and if you visit between Tuesday 17th and Friday 20th February, children can also enjoy time in the station building at Winchcombe with Trainmaster! Simply show your train ticket on entry and let the fun begin.

🎟️ Tickets can be booked online at www.gwsr.com or purchased on the day from our Booking Offices at Broadway, Toddington or Winchcombe stations.

Our resident Great Western Railway locomotive, No. 3850, is rostered to haul the trains. A fantastic opportunity to see this historic engine in action.

We look forward to welcoming you for a memorable half term day out!

*Please note: We are closed on Monday 16th February for essential maintenance. Trains will not operate to or from Cheltenham Racecourse during this half term period due to track works in the area.

Today we watched W55003 venture out down the line on its own during a successful test run. We’re really looking forward to introducing the Bubble Car into service, running in between our main train services on operating days. Huge congratulations and thanks to the volunteers who have worked incredibly hard to bring this fantastic restoration project to life.

🚂🎉 Steam trains + playtime fun this February Half Term! 🎉🚂

Looking for something a bit different to do with the kids this February half term? We’ve got you covered!
The railway will be operating from the 14th-22nd February, but from 17th–20th February 2026 come and enjoy a classic steam train journey through the beautiful Cotswolds before hopping off at Winchcombe Station, where the Tim Mitchell building will be transformed into a brilliant indoor play space with Trainmaster Kids’ Playtime.

Expect hands-on train sets, tracks, tunnels and plenty of interactive, railway-themed play to spark young imaginations – all in a safe, welcoming environment that parents and grandparents will enjoy too.

🎟️ Your day ticket includes:
✔️ Unlimited steam train travel between Broadway and Winchcombe
✔️ Entry to Trainmaster Kids’ Playtime at Winchcombe
✔️ Access to station facilities, shops and tea rooms
✔️ The model railway carriage at Winchcombe
Families can board at Broadway or Toddington (parking available at both) and make a full day of it – play, travel, explore, and relax.

Calling all lovers of all things vintage!

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is delighted to announce its inaugural Vintage Weekend, taking place on 11–12 April 2026.

We’re inviting vintage exhibits and vintage traders to be part of this brand-new event. Whether you have vehicles, displays, or period wares to showcase and sell, we’d love to hear from you.
