Gower Gallery is the reincarnation of Mumbles Fine Art, a long-established art gallery which has been a part of the community of Mumbles for many years. Refurbished and rebranded, the gallery is now expanding its collection to showcase a range of artists both from Wales and other parts of the UK. Framing Gower Gallery believe that for every picture, there’s a frame that fits it beautifully. With our new, dedicated framing workshop, we can help you find exactly what you’re looking for, from ready made frames to bespoke pieces. All of our frames and materials are of an exceptional standard, and with two experienced artists in-house, there’s always an opportunity to seek advice from those who understand your requirements. About Arwen Banning Born in Swansea, Arwen has been an avid painter from an early age, and after graduating with a degree in Fine Art from Newcastle University, has been shaping her career as a visual artist in New York, London and now, back in her home town. Arwen’s work has been included in the BP Portrait Award in the National Portrait Gallery and she has exhibited in the Mall Galleries, London, the Student Showcase Gallery in New York, Christie’s Auction House, The Royal Cambrian Acadamy in Conwy and the Royal College of Art to name just a few. Arwen’s art has been a key feature of Mumbles Fine Art for a number of years whilst under the management of her father, artist Ron Banning. Now, Arwen has taken the gallery under her wing, bringing her own unique style to the business, whilst working on her portfolio of paintings inspired by family life and the local Gower coastline. Other Artists Having exhibited the work of both Arwen and her father, Ron Banning over the past decades, the emergence of Gower Gallery has opened up opportunities to display the work of other artists, including; the ceramics of Jane Malvisi, Gill Pitman, Jane Davies and Christine Gittings, original paintings and 2 dimensional work from Sophie Nixon, Rachael Cook, Jane Bennet, Carys Evans and limited edition prints from Michelle Scragg . The gallery will also be showing the driftwood art of Gower artist Pippa Nielson.
