will be running bespoke drop in style sessions where you can choose your own projects.

🗯 We need your help! 🗯

We are looking for new members to join our lovely volunteer team - could you help? 🤔

We need:

- A volunteer fundraising manager

To keep the Story Shed going we need help to find the right grants, write applications, and make sure we're always ready for the next adventure! Ideally we're looking for a volunteer with fundraising experience, but we will consider anyone with a passion for doing things right!

- A volunteer social media person

We'd love someone who really enjoys making fun, quirky social media posts and reels, to shout about books, literacy, and all our fabulous workshops!

- A volunteer driver’s mate

Nick does a fantastic job but boxes of books are HEAVY - we are looking for someone strong to assist with manual handling tasks such as deliveries, collections, and event setup/takedown.

What a fantastic project to be part of!
Artsite & The Post Modern were commissioned by South Swindon Parish Council to work with young people to create a mural that celebrated the South Parish.
Young people from the Base, Broadgreen Community centre, Commonweal school, The Youth Justice Service and Artsite Youth all helped shape the mural from the ideas , the design and finally the painting.
Jake Dempsey, Artsites graduate artist worked with the young people at the design stage to create collages about what they liked about the parish, these collages helped to start shaping the visuals of the mural.
The Young people spoke about the places and spaces that they enjoyed going to as well as the activities they got involved in.
The colours of the mural represent the vibrancy and diversity of the area which the young people wanted to celebrate.
Members of the groups then came to help paint the murals so got experience of painting at a larger scale as well as working with professional artists to gain knowledge of turning ideas into designs and what suitable materials to use.
A big thank you to everyone involved, particularly the young people who's ideas and creativity shaped the vision, It's a wonderful addition to the South Parish HQ and and well worth a visit.
