Samantha Silverton Ceramics Me and My Work Hello and welcome to my page! I am Samantha a ceramic artist living in the southwest of England. Art for me has always been magical.

I studied ceramics at Bath spa university graduating in 2004. I remember being 5 years old sat on my dads knee while he taught me how to shade dark to light with colouring pencils and from that day on its been a love affair. I especially love the way clay feels between your fingers and the diversity of it. Clay can be so playful and I love how simple yet complex it can be and that other elements o

f design illustration fine art and graphics can be so easily incorporated to anything three dimensional. I am particularly interested in surface design. The inspiration for this has stemmed from everyday man made objects. Such as household items, machinary, the industrial revolution, and general robustness of heavy machinary. I have developed a style of drawing which has been transferred on to the ceramic surface. I feel has adopted visual qualities of the man made things that interest me. I see characters in the everyday ordinary.
