Behind the scenes at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage! 👀

Our new intern, Louisa, documented the installation of our latest exhibition, The Story Shall Be Changed, allowing you a rare glimpse into the curatorial process at the Trust.

Exploring Anne Hathaway’s life and legacy, as well as the story of Hamnet, the exhibition comes at a time of renewed interest at the site following this year’s eponymous film.

We’re delighted to be shortlisted for the Everyday Histories Heroes Awards for the West Midlands, celebrating local history and heritage.

Our project uncovers the fascinating story of Hall’s Croft as a Victorian boarding school, bringing the lives of its female tutors and pupils to light and looking beyond Shakespeare to discover Stratford’s wider history.

Come and see us at Warwickshire Pride on Saturday!

🎡We have a stall on Saturday 22 August from 11-6pm at the Leamington Pump Room Gardens, near to the bandstand and amusements.

👗Here is a sneak preview of our activities which are themed around dress in the early modern period. Visit us to get creative and design your own outfit through collage or origami, and learn more about how Shakespeare challenged gender and dress on-stage.

There’s still 2 weeks to enjoy free parking at Stratford Park and Ride this summer! ☀️

Planning a family day out in Stratford-upon-Avon? Till 31 August, visitors can park for free at Stratford Park and Ride, making it even easier to explore the town and discover the Shakespeare family homes.

And there’s more good news for families: throughout August, children aged 5–15 can travel free on local bus services across England as part of a national summer travel scheme.

So why not make the most of the summer holidays with a day out in Stratford-upon-Avon? Explore Shakespeare’s family story, step inside the homes where his family lived and discover more about life in Tudor England (all while making your travel budget go further.)

The Becoming Shakespeare Exhibition at Shakespeare's Birthplace is air conditioned and the gardens at Anne Hathaway's Cottage and New Place have numerous shaded areas to cool off.
