🛡 Save the date....The Vikings are back! 🛡

On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August 2026...Stafford Castle will once again be invaded by a Viking Horde!

The Vikings are setting up camp for the weekend with a rival Saxon camp in the woodland, with both sides ready to march up to the Inner Bailey and battle in two epic displays each day!

One of our most popular events will be packed full including; weaving and weapon activities, arms and armour displays, ‘Have-a-go’ Javelin, ‘Kiddie-Vike’ and Viking games such as Kubb and Nine Men’s Morris!

This alongside the fantastic axe-throwing, archery, coin minting, face painting, birds of prey and our tasty food stalls.

This will be an entertaining, educational and interactive day out suitable for all the family and fans of Vikings alike!

Both days the Vikings will arise at 10am then camp down at 4pm, and this is a free event but small charges apply for car park (cash only) and children's workshop activities

Car Park: £5
Motorbikes: £3
Pedestrians and Pushbikes Free
Children’s workshop price: £5

There will be additional free parking at King Edwards VI High School – about a 10 minute walk away from site.
