Another year at RAF Cosford Air Show, and we thought it the best yet with a fantastic range of warbirds displaying throughout the day.

We chose to represent the first Anglo-Iraqi war of 1941, where the RAF played a significant part in the strategic victory to secure British interests in Iraq. RAF Habbaniya and its personnel were very much at the centre of this action, with the Flying School based there thrown into action against the besieging Iraqi forces.

Here’s a long read on the campaign:https://resources.saylor.org/wwwresources/archived/site/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/HIST351-10.2.2-Anglo-Iraqi-War.pdf

What could the Cosford Air Show 2026 public see on our display? Here’s a sweep around our bell tent representing an area for aircrew to relax between sorties.

This last weekend we were privileged to again be asked to display for the annual Cranwellian Association weekend at RAF College Cranwell. This year the theme was the RAF overseas, showing actions and operations in a timeline from 1919 to the 1960s, across Afghanistan, India, Palestine, Iraq, Singapore, Malta, Normandy, Egypt, Kenya, the Suez and Malaya. It was an opportunity to show a lot of items that never really get the chance to be displayed, and it was satisfying that the audience was highly appreciative.

Thanks to MJ Wartog for this short video of AASIE group members demonstrating one of our simulated range serials last weekend 👍🏼

This year’s display at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre represented an RAF small arms range in the UK circa 1941. Over the 2 days we demonstrated range drills with blank rounds (although we were asked several times if we were using real rounds!). A massive thanks to the Centre organisers for allowing us to do the display again, we had lots of visitor interest throughout the weekend.
