☕🍰 Join us for a FREE Mayoress at Home event! 🍰☕

Come along to Spennymoor Town Hall on Saturday 12th September, 10am–12 noon, for a relaxed morning with the Mayor and Mayoress.

Enjoy a cuppa, light refreshments, and the opportunity to meet members of the local community in a friendly and welcoming setting. There will also be a raffle and tombola, with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s chosen charity, Spennymoor Boxing Academy. 🥊

✨⭐️New Art Wellbeing Group coming to Spennymoor Town Hall this September⭐️✨

Colours of Spennymoor, Art Wellbeing Group with artist Jayne Blacklock 🎨

📍Thursdays 10.00am – 12.00pm in the Gallery Maker Space: Pay What You Decide

Do you want to share time in a warm, welcoming community of like-minded people whilst learning new creative skills and techniques? Do you want to forget daily worries whilst you socialise, create and build your confidence in art? Do you want to feel inspired and learn from others?

If the answer is YES then join artist Jayne Blacklock at our adult art workshops using a range of mediums and techniques to create your own artwork. From pencil, charcoal, soft pastel and paint, you will be guided and tutored through how to use each one to explore a range of subjects, giving you confidence and skills to then produce your own work.

No need to bring anything except yourself and an open mind! Initially running as two groups, each fortnightly, choose which group suits you best:

- Starting on September 10th and then running every two weeks, our group for artists with experience of techniques and using a range of mediums

- Starting on September 17th and then running every two weeks, our group for beginners or those who may have dabbled a little, who want to learn more, may lack confidence or need help getting started.

Sessions run termly and are free, however a ‘Pay What You Decide’ donation is welcome towards resources and materials.

Team Solan’s brand-new Community Craft Group.

This group is open to everyone in the local community and completely FREE to attend. 💜

The aim of the group is to create a friendly, welcoming and supportive space where people can come together, meet others, enjoy some company and build new friendships — all while getting involved in a variety of crafts.

Whether someone is an experienced crafter or has never picked up a paintbrush, knitting needle or glue gun before, they will be made very welcome! There is no pressure and no experience needed — they can just come along, have a cuppa, enjoy some crafting and good company.

We hope this group will grow into a lovely little community of its own, providing a regular space for people to connect, support one another and, most importantly, enjoy themselves.

Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend. 💜
