The preparations are done, the buffet is stocked. The first job for the morning is to bake the scones and then start the powercars.

We've got air conditioned first class open to all, hot and cold food, cakes, drinks, charging sockets, colouring in, cab rides and more.

We also have Andy Coward joining us all day hosting a book signing for his new book ‘HST in the Fifth Decade’, he will be right next to the buffet.

The Colne Valley Miniature Railway will be open too and this will offer some great views of the main set as the run parallel and also offer views of 43071

These 2 powercars worked out of St Pancras and are fitted with Paxman VP185 engines.

📚 Andy Coward, author of HST in the Fifth Decade, will be hosting a book signing this Saturday!

In March, Andy had the honour of naming HST power car 43023.

On Saturday, he’ll be spending the day on board the main HST, with copies of HST in the Fifth Decade available to buy and sign.

If you’re coming to see four HST power cars in action, ride behind the 2+3 set, photograph the unusual 2+0 formation or take one of our cab rides, you’ll also have the chance to meet Andy and pick up a signed copy of the book.

Ride in the cab of three HST power cars!

On 29 August, our Western power cars will operate the 2+3 main HST, while two EMR power cars operate back-to-back as a 2+0 HST, with no coaches between them.

The 2+0 will depart a few minutes before the main set, allowing the 2+3 HST to pass it for photographs.

Cab rides will be available in three power cars. They cost £10 each, or £25 for a pass covering all three. Cab rides are ticketed separately. Terms and conditions apply.
