Story teller extraordinaire !
We the Wild Seas
by Ed Boxall
Ed Boxall is an artist, writer, and performer.
Ed likes to make pictures, poems and stories that mix up everyday things (like porridge) with magical things (like unicorns many any of his handmade prints capture moments from life: children’s encounters with animals, walking on the beach, eating porridge and peas. Other images have a more ambiguous poetry: people light fires in sea shells and drift on empty seas.
Ed has several children’s books printed with publishers such as Francis the Scaredy Cat and Mr Trim and Miss Jumble.
His self-published richly illustrated Pearbox Books explore this world and include We the Wild Ones, Umpkin, Carried Away with the Carnival and most recently We the Wild Seas, which is the focus for this exhibition.
In recent years Ed has become very involved in children’s poetry both as illustrator and poet. His book Me and My Alien Friend (published by Troika) was recommended for The Summer Reading Challenge and he has illustrated solo collections and anthologies such as Moonstruck.
Ed is also a dynamic performer and educator who loves to run workshops and perform his poems, songs and stories in schools, arts centres and festivals.
