Exhibition DRAWINGS OF GENOCIDE Reception + Artist Talk Friday 3rd July .gallery, Queens Road, Sanquhar, Scotland.
Come and listen to Matthew Collings speak about the drawings the Zionists don't want you to see.
What's the importance of these works? Why is it urgent to see this show? It's art, yes, but it's also a protest. Protesting against an art world that stands by and says nothing. High profile artists are protecting their money and reputation while Israel continues to commit genocide with impunity. How much longer can the art world hide this? These drawings are part of a turning point in history, which is why they challenge the narrative and the status quo. They must be seen in order to unlearn everything we've been taught and to encourage resistance in all its forms.
AND Jane Frere’s ERASURE panels
Over the same weekend Jane Frere’s work at MERZ reflects the furore around election manipulation, the rise of the extremist right, cultural cancellation and its chilling impact on arts organisations.
The increased erosion of freedom of speech and of critical thinking has been evident since Trump’s first election, alongside the Brexit gerrymandering and transnational collusion between politicians and business.
PLUS - the SCHOOL PRESS anti-racism wall of posters ‘recovered’ from the Mather’s pub wall in Edinburgh from the 1970s.
Exhibition open 11:00-4:00 on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th July
