Plain Arts and Salisbury Group of Artists are holding their first collaborative exhibition entitled "New Beginnings" from Wednesday 6th March until Saturday 30th at Gallery Four, Salisbury Library.

More than 135 original pieces will showcase the latest work by members of both groups in a wide variety of media; paintings, pastels, textiles, glass, ceramics, photography and sculpture. There will be an exhibition of 'large pictures’ in Gallery Four of Salisbury Library and a ‘small picture’ exhibition in the adjoining Community Lounge, both accompanied by a range of 3D pieces in glass, ceramics, sculpture and textiles.

The exhibition will be open during all library opening hours between 6th and 30th March. Admission is free.

The two groups represent over 350 local artists and makers from Salisbury and the surrounding areas. A number of artists who belong to both groups recently came up with the idea of a first collaborative exhibition for Spring this year, representing a “New Beginning’ for future possible collaborative ventures.

Annie says: I paint in acrylics and mixed media. I’m particularly inspired by the sea and the play of light on water.
I enjoy painting semi-abstract seascapes but also experimenting with abstracts using a coastal colour palette!

Hi, I’m Martin Webster Chair of the Salisbury Group of Artists. I love painting and the company of artists, so energising and life giving.
I paint many different subjects snow scenes, waves, landscapes and flowers- all in acrylic.
