NTHC Ruddington - Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre

NTHC Ruddington - Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre The Heritage Cafe provides hot and cold meals and drinks during our site opening hours.

The NTHC is situated in Ruddington, just off the A60 Nottingham to Loughborough road and is the home to many groups who are restoring and preserving the public transport used in a bygone era.

Our resident bus group (NABS) weren’t so resident today as they attended the Ilkeston Classic Car show on mass!

An annual event we are happy to support.

As ever, our buses created great interest and even the pilots of done passing WW2 fighter planes had to call in for a look.

Unfortunately, due to operational issues, our Summer Holiday trains will not be running tomorrow.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to welcome you back next week when our services are up and running again.

As a not-for-profit organisation that relies predominantly on volunteers, cancelling trains or events is never a decision we take lightly. It is always carefully considered, and we greatly appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support. 💙

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to operational difficulties, the Summer Holiday DMU trains planned for Wednesday 5th August at 11.00 and 13.00 have been cancelled.

All those who have booked have received a full refund.

We hope to return to the advertised running on Wednesday 12th August.

Tomorrow’s cream tea and fish & chip trains remain unchanged and will depart Ruddington at 12.30 and 15.30. As a reminder, due to the dry spell we have curtailed steam hauled trains in favour of diesel for the foreseeable future.

Don’t forget, it’s our annual Bus Rally and Running Day this Sunday, 26thJuly.

Pop along and view the vehicles from a bygone era and even take a trip on some of them too.

We are hoping in excess of a dozen visiting buses will join those already housed at the Heritage Centre.

All our other usual attractions will be open including The Heritage Cafe and both the model and miniature trains will be in operation.

Parking will be available at our neighbours, Vision Express as we don’t want a mix of parked cars and moving buses on site.

To encourage more visitors to experience what the Heritage Centre has to offer, access to this years event will be by gate donation and not a fixed price so please give generously.

Gates open and 10.00.
