Not posted for a while as can’t do a lot with a broken hand. 5 weeks today since happened, pins came out yesterday, but still a lot of stiffness and swelling to work on. Grateful I have my right hand and managed an iPet for a returning client who wanted to mimic one I did for her 10 years ago! What a difference. Drawing on an easel not so easy and the heat not helping. Hope it won’t be another 5 weeks til I’m back to my old self 🤞🤞

The last oil sketches I did 3 wks ago. Unable to do any oils painting at mo due to a fall from a horse breaking a bone on my left hand. Fortunately I can still do watercolours and iPet drawings as don’t need to undo lids or wash brushes with two hands. Missing Oil painting practice. Another 3 weeks at least with a splint.

A recent iPet for a fellow networking friend.

“Thank you so much. We love them. You have no idea just how special these are to us. We very sadly lost our wonderful Beau earlier this month. She was such a huge part of our lives as she was with us for 15 and a half years. ❤️
So, thank you for capturing her so beautifully and resting her chin on her favourite piggy”

So rewarding making something so special for someone. I look forward to seeing this printed.

World Art Day 2026 is celebrated today, honoring Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday to promote global creativity, artistic diversity, and freedom of expression. The 2026 theme is “A Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art,” highlighting art’s role in society. Here are a selection of garden related paintings I have done over the years interspersed with my love of dahlias. Certainly having attended ‘s art classes highlights the role of art in society let alone learning colour and a different technique which enables entering my artwork into exhibitions another role of art in society. I’m proud of challenging myself to create expressive art as well as being commissioned the traditional pet portraits.
