Unfortunately our Halpern Conservancy Board Building in Rochester is temporarily closed due to a fire.

Thankfully the fire was contained, no one was hurt and we are currently assessing the impact of smoke on the rest of the building.

We are saddened that our gallery programme in Rochester is currently paused. Our priority is supporting the affected exhibiting artists, studio residents and staff.

Unfortunately we are closed while we assess the damage from a fire in the building overnight.

The gallery is sadly closed today.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are fortunate that the fire was contained to the Kitchen area.

Our fire detection devices kicked in at about 4am and it was isolated. We still don’t know what caused it.
