The West Shed: Home of 'Duchess of Sutherland' and 'Princess Margaret Rose' Visit The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust’s WEST SHED to see iconic steam locomotives, historic railway carriages & our active engineering workshop.

The West Shed will be open Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 4pm. Refreshments will be available, subject to volunteer availability. ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS:
Access to the West Shed is via a heritage train ride from the Midland Railway-Butterley station to the Swanwick Junction

COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION:
Whilst some public restrictions eased on 19th July, we will continue to keep certain measures in place at the West Shed for the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff. Until further notice:

- We encourage visitors to wear a face covering inside the West Shed (unless medically exempt or for children under 11).
- We recommend that visitors maintain social distancing where possible and ask that you are considerate to other visitors and our staff and volunteers in this respect. Please note that The Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust's West Shed is a separate organization from the Midland Railway-Butterley. Admission to the West Shed is FREE (donations welcome!) but to travel by train from Butterley Station separate train fares apply, as charged by the Midland Railway Trust.
