Virtuoso Blues Man? Sensitive Singer Songwriter? Raucous Piano pounder? Marky Dawson is proud to be all three.
He developed his Boogie/Rock n Roll style piano playing along with his ability to interact with an audience taking requests and heckles working in London Pubs, Bars and Clubs since the age of 18
He delivers the intimacy of a Jazz Club, The energy of a stadium performance, and the fun of the pub.

Derek Nash has been a member of the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004, has led Sax Appeal for over thirty years, fronts the funk/fusion band Protect the Beat, and is a member of the Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion.
He is renowned for his energetic, vibrant, passionate and charismatic performances on all four saxophones - from sonorous baritone to soaring soprano

On Monday 5th October, we hosted out first night for 'RingwoRd' - the new poetry evening hosted by Ringwood Meeting House!

We were blown away. The turn out was great - we enjoyed a multi-generational celebration of poetry. We experienced original writing, heard favourite poems and even watched videos (a multi-media event)! Not everyone shared a poem, some sat and listened. It was a friendly, informal and cultural experience for all.

We want to give a special shout out to our wonderful bar staff. They really keep our events ticking, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone.

We would love to see you at the next event. Bring along a poem to read, ask someone in the room to read it for you, or simply sit, listen and enjoy. Everyone is welcome, all poetry and spoken word is welcome - we love having a mixture!

👀 HAPPENING TODAY: "Magnificent Mosaics - Windows into the Colourful Roman World"

We are excited to announce that we have Chris Bradley coming to the Ringwood Meeting House. His talk "Magnificent Mosaics - Windows into the Colourful Roman World" will show the rise and fall of the Roman Empire as you have never seen it before - through the eyes of the Roman people themselves and the contemporary mosaics they created to reflect and decorate their fascinating, colourful world.

✅ About Chris Bradley:
A film producer and cameraman, he has made documentaries for the BBC, National Geographic TV and Channel 4. His photographs are represented by several photographic libraries. As an expert in the history and culture of the Middle East and North Africa, he also leads many tour groups throughout the region. He has written extensively on Arabia and is the author of The Discovery Guide to Yemen, Insight Guide to the Silk Road and Berlitz Guides to Cairo; Egypt’s Red Sea; Nile Cruising; Oman; Abu Dhabi and Libya.

The Romans have left us with a remarkable artistic record of their lifestyles, beliefs, achievements and entertainment in the form of beautiful mosaics. From the greatest sites and museums in the world we see how they built upon earlier Greek traditions; the cities in which they lived; the Gods and myths in which they believed; and the exotic lives of the Romans themselves - from Britain to Sicily, from Morocco to Syria. This lavishly illustrated lecture uses only mosaics from start to finish, bringing the distant world of the Romans gloriously back to life with vibrant images full of action.
