Artists! We get many speculative emails about exhibition opportunities at the Workers Gallery. So we thought it would be helpful to let you know how best to get information about potentially exhibiting here:

Visit www.workersgallery.co.uk to see what art forms the gallery specialise in and use the contact form to join the mailing list. Any exhibition and residency opportunities will be advertised via the mailing list.

The main gallery space is already fully scheduled until early 2029 with local and international exhibitions of graphic novel & comic art, sports-related art, social documentary photography and sculpture.

We're grateful for all the interest in the gallery but we're not currently seeking artist submissions.

The Workers is an independent gallery, gweithdy & art studio in a south Wales village. It's a venue for community events, artist residencies, workshops & talks.

Dementia Friends Ambassador, Alison, has been busy collaborating with local businesses to produce 100 forget me nots to display in Rhondda Fach and Rhondda Fawr during last month and throughout the in June.

We think they look fantastic!

Alison said: β€œOver the last few weeks I have collaborated with Chris Williams, Workers Gallery Ynyshir and Martyn Lyons, President of Rhondda Rotary Club, to produce the forget me nots. Chris has designed and cut out the forget me nots and I glued all the bits together! Rhondda Rotary has financed the project via their dementia fund.

"The aim is to display them in various venues. In Ynyshir we collaborated with the local British Legion Branch to display them on the war memorial railings. They look absolutely fabulous. We also scaled some lampposts in the village.

"There are lots of different groups in the Rhondda who are displaying them, including community centres and local chapels!”
