Do you know anyone Graduating this year at UCLan? If you do, then this is for them.

I was lucky to be in the centre of Preston earlier today - enjoying the sunshine - and sketching the Harris Museum. Suddenly the Square filled with excited Graduates in gowns and mortars celebrating with family and friends.

Have you been to have a coffee at the Harris Museum in Preston? (must be one of the most special locations for afternoon tea, but then don't take my word for it)

The red and black can in the foreground is a Morris 8. My dad had one of these for a few years when we lived in Birmingham. It was used to carry customers orders and cash-n-carry items as part of our families hardware business of over 25yrs

This beautiful Triumph GT6 was lovingly restored about 20yrs ago by a lovely guy. It has been mothballed for the last 10 yrs during his early family years. His young son sat with me and we each sketched and coloured our own version of Molly together. One of my favourite cars as I nearly owned one myself a few years back... One day may be??...

Called to see Hilary at SPACE last night to collect tickets and discuss the auction prize I will give at the ball on 24 April. By popular demand, I've been asked to give the prize of painting someone's property, so I guess the Miller/ Avenham park watercolor will be on hold a while. You've got to be there to win it!

Hi folks - sorry I've been away for so long ...but I need your help and inspiration for a forthcoming project ...

What is your favourite Preston (and area) landmark?

I'm planning a watercolur painting that will be auctioned at SPACE Gala Ball on 24 April (also signed and VERY exclusive limited edition prints may be on offer for unlucky bidders)

I received a lovely letter and certificate of thanks from Hilary Holden from one of the charities we've supported since the Preston Guild in 2012. At around that time SPACE was in a real crisis and you helped me do our little bit. Although things are now under control, they still need £120,000 to complete SPACE 2 and every penny counts. Thank you all for your continued support - I'm so proud of what you've done!

Hi there. Sorry that I've been out of touch for a while. Today I delivered 2 portraits of 'Taylor' to his owner (& before you ask, no I don't plan other pet commissions as his owner used it as a bargaining lever when buying a Preston Guild framed print!). I hope to hear what the pledge the owner will make soon. I'll keep you posted. I hope you like him :o)

Barnardo's want to run an art competition with part of the donation I will be making - How fabulous! (Prizes all bought and ready for the winners :o)

10/01/2013

Earlier this week I had a lovely letter from Paula and Dave Holmes and team Katy acknowledging the donation made before Christmas and last night made a visit to Barnardos to break the news for their donation. Smiles all round :o)

This is an extract from a letter I received recently from the Headteacher at Royal Cross School Primary School for deaf children. Thank you all again for your tremendous support. Have a great week end >>>>>

………We are thrilled with the donation and wanted you to know how much we appreciated it. We feel very privileged to have been chosen as a beneficiary of your fundraising efforts to celebrate the 2012 Preston Guild and can assure you that your kindness will make a huge difference in a small school.

After discussion with the teachers we have decided that we should use the money to purchase ICT equipment, in particular a ‘visualiser’ as this will be very useful for implementing our creative curriculum. I know you will appreciate the benefit in investing in resources that will develop pupils’ skills for the future, primarily in communication......

I have explained to the children how you have raised the money and have given prizes to the winners of the Christmas card designs. Everyone was pleased with their gifts and cards and interested in the possibility of an Art Competition next year......

(>>>>if anyone would like to see the full letter, please contact me)

Best wishes to friends and family catching the 2012 Preston Guild train heading for a fantastic journey into 2013!

Feeling a little like Santa at the moment..... 2 charities have now received their Christmas gifts and 2 to more to go :)

Thank you everyone for your support in helping to raise this much needed money.

18/12/2012

Good morning all. Today is very exciting for me and for the good causes that I have been supporting with your help in 2012. During this week I will be starting to distribute money raised that will hopefully bring with it some Christmas cheer. Thank you everyone that has helped me :o)

17/12/2012

All items were sold via eBay yesterday. The original watercolour went to a friend from work who is seriously ill, but wanted to make a bid with Christmas money from his family members. This was a wonderful thing for him to do at this time of year - always thinking of others before himself. I am proud to know the painting is going to such a wonderful and worthy home :o)
