Our last day of the season open to the public and we had a visit from a returning friend of the Museum piping a selection of tunes, including a lament, for the end of the season. Best wishes from the team and hope you come back again.

The Museum of Islay Life has four signed copies left of Arthur MacEachern's "Around the World in Eighty Years" for sale.
From the blurb: "In the evening of his life, man of the sea, Arthur MacEachern, has made a few notes about what he did in his eighty odd years. He says, 'Maybe some will be interested, and if not, it has given me something to do. It's been a varied life, some things I wish I'd never done, but you learn from your mistakes and most of it has been good.'"

The Museum of Islay Life is preparing an updated version of its pamphlet, "Guide to Places of Interest on Islay" and would like to offer the opportunity for any Ileach to provide us with a colour photograph for the front cover. We have 1,000s of photos in our collection but a contribution by a local would be a nice touch.
The image must be in colour, A5 ratio and in portrait format. If you are interested, please send your submission/s to us at [email protected]. We hope to have the pamphlet print ready by the end of the month.
A year's family membership as first prize and, of course, the chance to showcase your work to the 1,000s who visit us every year are on offer.

Thanks for the post. Lots to see. Come in and say hello.
