ON THE DEVONPORT LINES. Looks like there’s been a large military parade and the crowd are just making their way home afterwards.

It’s Devonport, but I’m not sure of the street. I’m sure somebody out there can confirm this. FORE STREET

Has there ever ever been a finer photograph, in focus, beautifully composed of Navy Row now known as Albert Road in Devonport? We’re about an Albert Road of today’s this taken is it taken just almost outside where the Stonemasons Arms used to be?

Superb high definition photograph of the very early version of Plymouth pier with great detail of West Hoe and Rusty Anchor. Many thanks to Steve Smith for sending in this photograph from his private collection. We need more of you to dig into your collection and send them to me to put them here or put them on any of the other pages. It doesn’t need to be this one. There are a couple of versions of this view taken from different positions. I’ve not seen this one before.

1858? Another stunning high definition photograph from the collection of Steve Smith. Steve bought this one recently on eBay paying £30 and yet selflessly still happy to put it here for us all to enjoy. Why can’t more of you collectors be like this? This is a view of the dockyard from CREMYLL. I’m not too sure at the identity of the main ship in the centre of the photograph.

This is a view of PLYMOUTH from the beach at MOUNT EDGCUMBE.
Lots of detail in the people in the foreground love the Busby on the soldier on the right.

THE BEACH AT EASTERN KINGS, just west of MILLBAY DOCKS. Is that large chimney part of the electricity generating plant that was there once?
We must thank one more time the local Collector who has kindly agreed to let us all see his entire collection of over 2000 images so that we may all share and enjoy our common history.
