Judith Beeby’s New Horizons is on this week at MADE in the Pewsey Vale.

Alex was delighted when Judith suggested this tyre heap as the setting for a portrait. It wasn’t the easiest location to navigate, but Judith approaches both her art and life with courage and confidence.

Wonderfully intelligent and independent, blessed with a brilliant sense of humour, she brings a unique energy to everything she does—and these portraits capture that beautifully.

Don’t miss New Horizons, open 10am–4pm daily until Saturday 6th June.

New Horizons by Judith Beeby

Open today: 10am–4pm

Anchored in the landscape yet punctuated by hints of man-made structures, Judith’s watercolours are atmospheric and intriguing. Painted largely from her imagination, they draw inspiration from real places while adding an air of mystery to every scene. This is partly achieved through her skilful manipulation of paint and texture, allowing colour to bleed and creating effects that make the air appear warped, misty, or fog-laden.

The other strand of her practice is her large-scale gloss paintings, created by pouring car paint onto canvas or aluminium. These surreal and beautiful works seem to swirl and move before the viewer’s eyes, evoking the sensation of looking at a planet from outer space.
Together, these two bodies of work form the wonderful exhibition New Horizons.

is in the gallery today and is always generous in sharing insights into her techniques and creative process, so don’t miss the opportunity to meet her and learn more about her work.

JUDITH BEEBY in her studio by Alex Bramall

Judith’s exhibition New Horizons grapples with the encroaching urban structures in our countryside. However, her work is doesn’t necessarily criticise these changes, but finds beauty in the geometrics of a pylon, the small yellow light reflecting in a lake or the giants of architecture and industry from the 20th century.

Judith Beeby in her studio captured here by Alex Bramall for MADE

Judith works primarily in watercolour from her studio in Foxham, Wiltshire.

A graduate of Bath Spa University, Judith completed a BA (Hons) in Creative Art in 2014 and an MA in Fine Art in 2016. Alongside her watercolour practice, she has also explored abstract, chance-driven techniques using high-gloss car paint, investigating themes of control, contrast, and unpredictability.

Judith is a member of the Royal Academy of the West of England Artists’ Network, and her work is held in the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection at Chippenham Museum.

Her exhibition ‘New Horizons’ opens this Thursday with a PV (5-8pm) and then officially on Friday at 10am.

Coming to MADE this week…we can’t wait to welcome Judith Beeby with her exhibition ‘New Horizons’.

Judith is a Wiltshire based contemporary watercolourist who skilfully captures the quiet tension between industrial structures and the rural English landscape. She paints pylons, underpasses and misty woodlands, highlighting the subtle interaction between human-made power and natural places.

New Horizons celebrates the recent changes in our landscape. These works do not separate city from countryside, nor structure from nature; instead, they reveal how deeply intertwined they have become.

Opening with a Private View this Thursday and then open from 10am on Friday 29th May.

Last day of Tattooing the Tuba with Julieann Worrall Hood!

The response to this exhibition has been deeply engaging and thought-provoking. Conceived as a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience, the show invites visitors to reflect on their own memories and personal associations in dialogue with the work.

Don’t miss the chance to experience Pewsey High Street’s answer to the Turbine Hall before it closes!
Huge thanks to for the dedication she brings to her practice, and for her generosity in spending time with visitors throughout the week to share insights into the work. It’s been a magical exhibition.
