We are pleased to announce that Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery has been awarded a £250,000 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to support a two-year initiative centred on the internationally significant Bronze Age archaeology of Must Farm in Whittlesey.

From Britain’s earliest wheel to beautifully preserved textiles, beads, and log boats, the My Must Farm project invites communities to explore, document, and showcase Bronze Age life. The programme will culminate in a permanent prehistory display, inspiring AV experiences, and an accessible digital catalogue, ensuring this unique heritage is preserved for generations to come.

This Halloween, step into the shadowy world of Doctor Who’s most iconic monsters — from the chilling to the downright terrifying.

Meet the creative minds who brought these creatures to life, and hear the inside stories of what it’s really like to design, build, and become the monsters that have haunted the Doctor through time and space.

Hosted by Marcus Hearn (Doctor Who Magazine), this fascinating discussion brings together three legends of the Whoniverse:

Robert Allsopp – The master of monster design, responsible for unforgettable creations including the peg dolls and the latest incarnation of the Cybermen. His work spans both classic and modern Doctor Who, as well as major film and television projects.

Stephen Mansfield – Visual effects wizard from the Sylvester McCoy era and operator of Fifi the Stigorax, now Principal Sculptor at Madame Tussauds.

Richard Ashton – The actor behind Friday, the Ice Warrior from “The Empress of Mars”, who also appeared in the cult sci-fi classic The Fifth Element.

Expect rare insights, behind-the-scenes tales, and a few surprises — plus the chance to ask your own questions in a live Q&A.

🕒 Duration: Approximately 1 hour, followed by a signing session.

⭐️ Good news for Peterborough Museum ⭐️

I'm really pleased the Government has given the green light to a £168,000 grant to Peterborough Museum.

After a great Dr Who exhibition - over 13,000 tickets sold - this is a great boost and takes government funding to over £300,000 to help with improving and protecting services. This is a welcome boost as we know local funding can be difficult 💪

We knew this money was coming but great to have it confirmed today.

Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers at Peterborough Museum - you are an asset to the city ❤️💪🙏

⭐️ Good news for tourism and the museum ⭐️

It’s nearly a month since representatives of our main visitor attractions and heritage groups got together at the Kathmandu Lounge.

I’ve written about progress since that meeting in my Peterborough Telegraph column this week.

Bringing together all of our main visitor attractions - like the cathedral, museum, Flag Fen and more - the Tourism Collective is helping to change things for the better.

Progress is being made on a new Discover Peterborough website and a new shadow visitor board. This will create an independent voice for our attractions to work with businesses, government, Mayor and council.
