Jardine Gallery & Workshop contemporary fine art and craft It is also the studio of ceramic sculptor Julian Jardine.

The Jardine Gallery and workshop exhibits Fine Art and Craft created by some of the best wildlife artists from the UK and abroad. The gallery exhibites mainly work based on wildlife, nature and organic forms to compliment Julian's wildlife art. The Gallery also offers a picture framing service. Regular clay sculpting, drawing and painting classes for children and adults are held at the Workshop, across the road from the gallery.

Sloth Bear demonstration now finished and painted. This piece was made at Celebrating Ceramics, Waterperry Gardens, by Oxford during the show in July.

A lovely flash visit to the city of York on route to delivering work to the Maiden Bridge Gallery for their summer show. We took a stroll round the narrow streets filled with fabulous historic buildings. I popped into the Pyramid Gallery in Stone gate which always has beautiful work in it. The current show features glass including some beautifully crafted blown and cut glass by Tim Rawlinson.
Would love to relocate the business here in the coming years. It's a city full of history, attractions, great restaurants and cool bars. I could maybe open the "Gallery & Workshop that shouldn't be named! " 🤣

Loco Glass has delivered some new traditional hand blown glass to the Jardine Gallery. I have added all their new pieces to the gallery online shop, link in the bio. Colin and Louise have been supplying my gallery for the last 15yrs and have 25yrs of experience creating hand blown glass. They work from the Brewery Arts Centre in Cirencester.

Some new woodcut and linocut prints by Ian Macculloch are now in stock at the Jardine Gallery. Ian's work has been popular at the gallery since I opened it in 2008. You can see more of his work by visiting the gallery website, link in the bio.

Leafy Tea Dragon made for this year's Potfest shows competition which is titled "Hybrid"
This is a combination of a teapot and the beautiful Leafy Sea Dragon fired and glazed to 1125c

SHOWTIME 2024
I'm delighted to have been selected for some of the best ceramic shows to be held in the UK this year. I'll certainly have my work cut out getting everything completed in time but I very much look forward to the journey.

Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Little Owl and Tawny Owl. Three new pieces by wildlife artist Karen Fawcett now on show at the Jardine Gallery.
Karen Fawcett is a well established English sculptor who I regularly exhibit with at the Potfest shows. Her work can be seen in many galleries throughout the UK and she works with museums making replicas from fossils.

I started this Octopus back in late July at Potfest in the Park. It then was finished off in my studio and fired but remained unpainted as I worked on commissions. I finally got round to painting it while doing some paint work with people from my October weekend workshops. But I'm still not sure on the final colour scheme so it's likely to change again 🙄

Silverback Gorilla
I've been busy restocking so have not posted a new piece in a while. This is a Silverback that I've just finished sculpting for a client. 55cm wide, 40cm deep and 46cm high. The sculpture is hollow and roughly 1cm thick. It will now be dried for a couple of weeks before firing.

Time for a break.
After a summer of shows every 2-3weeks, frantic making, firings and painting I'm off having a break with my son to celebrate his 21st next week. Osaka in Japan is proving to be a wonderful friendly city full of surprises. Lovely and clean, super polite and friendly.

This piece will be coming with me to the new Potfest Suffolk held at Haughley Park on the 11th, 12th and 13th August.

Black Jaguar
23cm wide, 48cm deep, 40c high
Ceramic fired to 1140c finished in acrylics.
Commission for a client meeting me at Potfest in the Park this coming weekend July 28-30th.
"Black cat with black spots you can see" was the description I was given to go on! 🤣 I had no idea how it would work out but along with the Amur Leopard I posted a few days ago this has been a really satisfying piece to complete.

Amur Tiger
50cm wide x 40cm deep x 25cm high
Ceramic fired to 1140c finished in acrylics.
This piece will be on show next weekend at the Exhibition of wildlife art. It is the largest wildlife art show held outside of London and includes around 600 pieces of artwork. I will be at the preview evening if you are able to come along on Thursday 27th between 6pm-8.30pm.
The show then runs from the 28-30th July at the Gordale Garden Centre near Chester in the Wirral.

Silverback Gorilla.
This is the piece I demonstrated at Potfest Compton Verney. It is now complete and ready to go to Potfest in the Park which runs from the 28-30th July. Hutton-in-the-Forest near Penrith.
There will be around 90 of the countries best ceramic artists at the show selling there work. It is always a fantastic weekend and I hope to see some of you there.

Amur Leopard
Finally finished this piece which I will be taking to the exhibition of wildlife art 28th-30th July. The biggest wildlife art exhibition held outside of London with about 600 pieces of art and numerous artists there in person over the weekend.

I'll continue it on the final day tomorrow.
We've been blessed with a warm sunny weekend and all the visitors that spoke with me today were loving the show commenting about the quality and diversity of it. If your free tomorrow make a day out of it and come along to see the show and purchase some new loveliness to cherish at your home.
