Come and join Reece Ingram for his fabulous workshop making clay mammals on Saturday 26th of September.

Create clay mammal sculptures using unique methods. Sculpt fur textures and paint with underglaze slips. Sculptures ready in 4 weeks.

Students will make 2 sculptures in stoneware clay of a mammal (fox, badger, seal, for example). The finished pieces will be approximately 15cm long. They will use 2 different methods of creating the initial forms. They will refine these forms and add details such as fur and patterns. They will finish off by applying underglaze slip to colour the clay in several different ways 

Resource images will be provided, although students may bring their own. They may have a favourite mammal. 

The sculptures will be taken away to be fired, and students will be able to pick them up from the gallery approximately 4 weeks after the workshop. 

This workshop includes lunch in the lovely National Trust-run Crofters Cafe. Please inform us in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements we need to be aware of. Whilst we do our best, we can't guarantee that any other dishes are totally allergen-free.

This beautiful Cornish Cottage by Diane Hadden is in the window for a couple of weeks to get us in the mood for the Hermitage Press Cornwall window takeover...

One of Diane's paintings was used for the cover of the annual anthology by Falmouth Poetry Group this year.

And the work of two of our previous exhibitors Adrian Holmes 木版画 and have been used to create the covers for two new books being published in September - HIRETHOW by and CREATURES OF A BRIEF SEASON by Clare Owen Writer.

Both pieces of artwork will be featured in our window in the next few weeks for a celebration of these amazing collaborations - we can't wait 🎉
