Marmalade Cutting Machine.

Black lacquered, metal machine with clamp for attaching to table top. Triangular wedge shaped frame with vertical blade & handle and feed tube for oranges.

Used by the Laycock Family in the Grocers Shop at 101 Cross Green from around 1940s.

Stamped "Follows & Bate Ltd. Patent Marmalade Cutter, Manchester".

Tennis trophies from Wharfemeadows tennis. Presented to Frank Norman Moon.

Mens doubles winner 1930. Silver, 11 x 7.2 cm with handles.

Mixed doubles winner 1930. Silver, 13.5 x 19.2 cm. No handles.

Wooden ticket box dating from c.1920.

Used at Otley open air swimming pool in Wharfemeadows, then from 1974 at PHGS pool until around 1999.

Dimensions 28.5x17x19 cms with six inner compartments for tickets.

5 rolls of tickets remain, Swim Adult (orange), Swim Adult Sunday (green) and Swim OAP x3 (cream).

Pottery shoe - souvenir of Otley.

Crested china shoe with Otley coat of arms. 4 inches long.

"Exactly model of first shoes worn by Princess Victoria" printed on sole.

Maker is W H Goss.

British Restaurant, Bondgate. Opened December 1941 & pictured soon after.
Earlier version of the Civic Restaurant posted last week.
Recognise anyone in the photo?

Also a photo of Grove House which was on the same site previously. Dated around 1930.

You may have seen comments on another Otley FB page about the Museum getting new premises in the Town.

We can confirm that we are in negotiations to lease a town centre property in order to once again have our own facilities.

Photo of the "CIVIC RESTAURANT", Bondgate.

Formerly the "BRITISH RESTAURANT", this was a wartime building opened in December 1941 to provide meals for local folk.

Photo taken in 1956, prior to demolition. Notice over the Southern door states "Otley Old People's Club.

The site now contains the Garden of Remembrance and the Otley Action for Older People building. Bowling Green pub can be seen in the background.

Clock made by R Coad, Kirkgate, Otley c.1884.
Round faced wall clock 14.5 inch diameter, with wooden casing.
White metal face with black Roman Numerals.
Brass fusee movement with chain drive & pendulum.
Rim & glass missing.

Also advert for Coad's business from a booklet dated 1892.
