Alan is a Scottish Artist,who mainly paints Scottish wildlife and landscapes,working in oil and acrylic,he also produces prints of his work. No.01967421616.

After living in Glenlyon for many years Alan now lives on the Drimnin Estate on Morvern,Argyll, with views over the Sound of Mull,to Mull and Arnamurchan. Alan's work can be seen in Gallery's throughout Scotland but you can now see his work at the new Gallery next to his studio on Drimnin Estate,which can be visited Monday to Friday 10.30am - 4pm, or by appointment, tel. Just reworked this one, 31x16in acrylic on canvas, the top one is how it looks now, the bottom one is how it looked two days ago. I painted the bottom one about three years ago and the foreground never really worked, I thought a couple of small changes would really help but finished up nearly repainting the whole thing, even added a turnstone among the ringed plovers. Haven’t seen this for nearly 40yrs, I forgot to photograph it at the time, it was a commission for the fisherman who caught it on the river Lyon. An old, red, c**k salmon caught in the autumn, hence the large Kype and the leaves in the water, if I remember correctly I think it weighed around 30lbs, I had the head in my freezer for months before I painted it.
