Dragon Hall Norwich

Dragon Hall Norwich Dragon Hall is a Grade 1 listed medieval trading hall in the heart of Norwich. It opens as a museum

Dragon Hall is a unique, Grade 1 listed medieval trading hall dating from around 1430, renowned for its spectacular timber crown-post roof and intricately carved and painted dragon. It was built by a merchant called Robert Toppes and was at the heart of his international trading empire. In its heyday it would have been filled with wool, cloth, timber, spices, pottery and other items that could be

bought and sold. For centuries the original timber roof and vast Great Hall were lost, concealed within an everyday terrace of houses and shops. Today, the Great Hall has been restored to its original splendour and Dragon Hall opens as a museum, telling the remarkable story of Robert Toppes, medieval trade and civic life in fifteenth century Norwich. Dragon Hall is also a venue for a wide range of learning, cultural and community events activities. It is a magical venue for weddings, parties and celebrations, a popular setting for markets and fairs and an inspirational environment in which children of all ages can learn, create and discover.

Christmas is just one week away and we can’t quite believe it. We’ve missed seeing rooms draped in deep reds, warm lights and lots of greenery throughout December during our usual winter weddings and customary parties but we’re remaining hopeful for the year to come!

We hope everyone is enjoying the lead up to Christmas and has managed to create a festive feeling. If you’re not quite there yet we really recommend making your home SMELL Christmassy. Think mulled wine, cinnamon sticks, dried oranges and pine.

Did someone say BIG weekend?
Wow - we have had the biggest, best time these past couple of days, with amazing happenings at several of the venues we're lucky enough to work with...

First up - shout and out and big congratulations to The Orangery Tea Room Norfolk. Based at the stunning Ketteringham Hall, this lovely new Tea Room opened on Saturday - do check them out.

Next up - yesterday saw lots of you enjoying the gorgeous surroundings of Dragon Hall Norwich (National Centre for Writing) when we threw open the doors for our first Wedding Open Day. Thank you so much to everyone who came along, and to all the wonderful suppliers who were also involved. What a super day.

And last but absolutely by no means least - Victoria and Terry celebrated their wedding at the weekend with an amazing day at Kimberley Hall. Congratulations - we loved looking after you all.

Wonder what this week has in store... https://softleyevents.co.uk/
