Who saw the convoy from the YesterBus Locomotion Bus Rally in memory of Andrew Dolan?

There was something truly special about looking in the mirror from our position near the front of the convoy and seeing more than 20 buses stretching out behind us. It was a fantastic sight and a fitting tribute to Andrew.

We're at Locomotion today for the Yesterbus Father's Day Bus Rally in memory of Andrew Dolan.

We have brought FHN 923, G251 SRG, and M73 WYG from the museum. We also have our shop with some great deals and prices, so do pop along and say hello!

This Father's Day, the Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society will be making the journey to YESTERBUS FATHER'S DAY RALLY – In Memory of Andrew Dolan at Locomotion on Sunday 21st June.

We'll be bringing along a selection of special society vehicles and joining fellow enthusiasts for what promises to be a fantastic celebration of preserved transport, heritage, and memories.

Whether you're a long-time bus enthusiast, looking for a great family day out, or simply wanting to enjoy some wonderful vehicles from the past, it's always a brilliant event to attend.

The Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society is delighted to invite you to our annual Newton Aycliffe Running Day on **Saturday 8th August 2026.

Join us for a fantastic day celebrating the rich history of buses and public transport, with a wonderful variety of preserved and visiting vehicles on display and in operation throughout the day. Whether you're a dedicated enthusiast, a lover of local history, or simply looking for a great family day out, there will be plenty to see and do.

One of the highlights of the day will be our FREE heritage bus rides, giving visitors the chance to experience travel from a bygone era whilst exploring Newton Aycliffe and the surrounding area. Alongside the buses, there will be stalls, displays, refreshments, opportunities to visit the museum, and plenty of chances to meet the volunteers who work hard to preserve these important pieces of our transport heritage.

Events such as Running Day are only possible thanks to the support of our members, volunteers, visitors and supporters, and we would love to welcome both familiar faces and first-time visitors to what promises to be a memorable day.

So mark the date in your diary, invite your friends and family, and come along to help us celebrate the past, present and future of bus preservation.

We’re delighted to invite you to our Classic Vehicle Event taking place on Saturday 25th July 2026 at Aycliffe Bus Museum!

Join us for a fantastic day celebrating timeless motoring history, featuring a wonderful display of classic cars alongside our own heritage vehicles. Whether you’re a dedicated enthusiast or just looking for a great family day out, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Behind the scenes at Aycliffe Bus Museum, preparations are already underway for our next Open Day.

Vehicles are being polished.

Exhibits are being prepared.

Archives are being explored.

Volunteers are hard at work.

Soon, our museum will once again come alive with the sights, sounds and stories of transport history.
