Our mural outside The Levels has been tagged.
We know our mural isn’t officially part of the collection of Newquay murals around the town, but to us it’s still a really special piece of artwork. It was designed and created especially for us by the incredibly talented and it’s something we’re really proud to have on the outside of our creative hub.
So it’s genuinely upsetting to see someone come along and deface it.
We understand that other murals around Newquay have also recently been tagged, so we wanted to raise awareness and ask - does anyone recognise this tag ?
We’re not looking to start a witch hunt or track anyone down. We’d simply like people to be aware that this is happening and, hopefully, to encourage a little more respect for the artwork that makes our town such a colourful and creative place.
We’re a creative hub. We absolutely understand the desire to create, make your mark and express yourself - but there are so many ways to do that without damaging someone else’s work.
Artists put time, creativity, passion and skill into these pieces. Let’s celebrate that creativity rather than cover it up. 💚
